PHOENIX SEMINARY JOURNEY TO THE LAND OF THE BIBLE WITH DR. DARRYL DELHOUSAYE & DR. PAUL WEGNER JANUARY 5—16, 2012 Dear Friends, Imagine what it would be like to walk the hills and valleys where Abraham sojourned among the inhabitants of Canaan, Gideon battled the Midianites, and young David chose five smooth stones with which to face the Philistine giant. Imagine looking over the Sea of Galilee from the very places where Jesus healed, taught, and did astounding miracles. Imagine standing on the Mount of Olives overlooking Jerusalem, walking under the city’s walls, or exploring the excavations of the Temple Mount and seeing the history of Jerusa lem come alive. Imagine all this, and much, much more. These and many other experiences can become a reality for you with Phoenix Seminary’s Journey to Israel. We will never read our Bible in the same way. It will help visu alize stories, parables, and events. To see the sites is enlightening to our minds and reassur ing to our faith. The land is real. The settings are real. Both have been accurately recorded in the Bible. When we sit on the deck of our hotel overlooking the Sea of Galilee reading the Gospel of Matthew, our minds visualize the very locations mentioned in the text. To stand on the Mount of Olives, to sit quietly at the Garden Tomb, to walk the streets of Jerusalem and to view the Galilee region from the hills above are incredible experiences. We invite you to be part of an unforgettable eleven day trip to the land of the Bible. This trip will provide something for everyone who wants to strengthen his or her biblical under standing and to stimulate their walk with the Lord. The Scriptures will come to life in fresh and new ways and our lives will be enriched as we explore the land of the Bible. Do keep in mind that in order to make the tour as significant as possible for each person, the size of the group is limited. Shalom, Dr. Darryl DelHousaye and Dr. Paul D. Wegner What joy for those whose strength comes from the LORD, who have set their minds on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem. ~ Psalm 84:5 JANUARY 9 • THE OLD CITY Israel’s unforgettable memorial to the six million ITINERARY YAD VASHEM Jews killed in the Holocaust.
