A Note from our President…
There’s no place like home… There’s no place like home… There’s no place like home – Dorothy Gale
We’ve all heard these lines before; just before Dorothy is sent home in the Wizard of Oz. Before she “clicks her heels” and
says these words, though, she says she learned that she didn’t need to look for happiness anywhere else but in her own backyard. We
could all certainly learn something from this simple discovery.
Unfortunately, we are still displaced from the Senior Center this month, but I know that our February meeting has just
reinforced that wherever we are, as long as we’re together, it’s “Home”. I can certainly say that February was one of the most fun and
enlightening meetings we’ve had yet; thanks Cathy!
Hope to see you this month, when we’ll learn about Stained Glass quilting from Katie Lane Quilts. It’s sure to be a great
evening.
Piecefully,
Norma
(And just for luck, before you come to meeting this month, click your heels together 3 times and say “There’s no place like home …
There’s no place like home … There’s no place like home )

Happy Quilting!!!!!
***VERY IMPORTANT***
Following please read instruction on sending quilt information via e-mail.
I highly encourage you to forward your descriptions via e-mail.
Sending you quilt entry:
It might be easiest for most members to write up your entry and quilt description using a Word Processing
program first. As you do this you will have time to save your work and re-read your description so that you can
make changes if you choose. It will also give you time to think about your entry or go measure it again if need
be. You will also be able to print this document to hand in with your pictures.
To do this, take the entry form and type in all the items in the order that they appear on the entry form. Do not
worry about placing the information in columns, or use any special formatting , rather put each new line of text
on a new line on the page by using the return or enter key. An example is below:
Theresa Trapunto
1 Marriner’s Way
Quilt City, Massachusetts
quilter@yahoo.org
978-555-1234
Title: My Favorite Quilt
Size: 48” X 48”
Statement: At the very least a brief description of your quilt.
Continue with the items on the form. After title, category and size, items on the form may be omitted if they do
not apply. Fore instance, I you are not interested in selling you quilt you may skip that question. When this is
all completed save your work. Highlight the entire text you typed and copy it. Then go to your email source on
your computer. Open a new message and paste the text you just copied from the Word Processing document in
to the message area of the email window.
In the “To:” box type in gchingris@msn.com.
In the “subject: box type your name and then type quilt entry 1.
If you send along another entry, end the subject line with quilt entry 2.
An example is below:
Theresa Trapunto-Quilt entry 1
Theresa Trapunto-Quilt entry 2
Before sending you can attach a digital photo of your quilt into this email by clicking on the attach file
button(paperclip icon). This will open an window which allows you to choose the file you would like to attach.
Highlight the file that contains your photo and click on open. Your photo will now be attached to your email.
Make sure each entry is sent in a separate email. When you finish an entry press the send button. I hope that
everyone will be able to accomplish this with ease. If you do encounter anhy problems try asking a friend. It is
very likely that you know someone who can help you. If that does not help feel free to email me questions at:
gchingris@msn.com, in your subject line type “entry quest
