							Tiger

Tigers are large, fierce cats that have stripes.

Habitat – Tigers live in the mixed forests, mangrove swamps and
grasslands Asia.

Size – Tigers are up to 3 metres long and weigh up to 230 kilos.
Their tails are nearly 1 metre long.

Appearance – Tigers have a striped coat which makes them
difficult to see in the forest and grasslands. They have huge paws
with long sharp claws and can move very fast to catch their prey.

Diet – Tigers are carnivores (meat eaters). They hunt antelope,
wild pig, and wild cattle.

Young - The female gives birth to three or four blind and helpless
cubs.

Interesting fact – During the hot season tigers spend much of the
day near streams or pools, often lying or standing in water to keep
cool.
