The iPad's failure to support Flash does not dazzle anyone, nor does its limited ability to support multi-tasking.
That means no running any applications in the background. No USB ports. No camera. Plain vanilla.

The College of William & Mary Utilizes Aerohive’s HiveAP and Hive Manager to Provide Full
WLAN Coverage Throughout New Facility

Aerohive’s enterprise-class wireless solution for the University’s new, three-story, 166,000 square foot facility
that houses the school’s Mason School of Business.

 William & Mary has long been an early adopter of WLAN solutions. Several years ago, the University deployed
an Airespace (Cisco) controller-based WLAN that has grown to 1000 802.11abg Access Points. However when
they decided to deploy 802.11n in the new business school, they evaluated WLAN products from multiple
vendors, including Cisco Systems, Meru Networks, Beldin/Trapeze Networks, Aruba Networks and Aerohive.
Four key requirements were identified: support for 802.11n, reliability, the ability to integrate with the
University’s home-grown Network Access Control (NAC) system and ease of deployment and management. Of
the vendors evaluated, all but Aerohive relied on a controller-based architecture.

 “We felt that going forward with the controller model didn’t line up with our desire to be more fault tolerant,”
said Norman Elton, Network Engineer and manager of the University’s WLAN. “Aerohive provides centralized
control and management. The access points communicate with each other, but there is no single point of failure
for user traffic. That was really the clincher for us.”

 Approximately 100 Aerohive HiveAPs were easily deployed throughout the School of Business within a few
days. According to Elton, “The engineer just hung them, plugged them in, and walked away.” Managing the
HiveAPs has been easy for William & Mary with the Aerohive HiveManager, which provides centralized
configuration and monitoring and simplifies provisioning for system-wide policy management.

 “Like many organizations, William and Mary completely reevaluated their previous wireless approach when

statistically sound longitudinal study of its kind.

The 2009 study’s key findings include:

 • 22% (108) of the primary corporations listed in the 2009 Fortune 500 have a public-facing corporate blog. This
represents a six percent increase over the 2008 study.
 • 86% of these blogs (93) link directly to a corporate twitter account, a 300% increase over the 2008 study. (Note:
More Fortune 500 corporations have Twitter accounts, but do not link directly from their blogs.)
 • 35% (173) of the Fortune 500 have active Twitter accounts (a post within the past thirty days); and nearly 50%
of the top 100 companies (47) have a Twitter account.
 • 80% -- four of the top five corporations – Wal-Mart, Chevron, ConocoPhillips and General Electric –
consistently post on their Twitter accounts. The number one ranked company, Exxon Mobil, does not have a
Twitter account.
 • The insurance industry has the most Twitter accounts (13).
 • 19% of the 2009 Fortune 500 is podcasting, a three percent increase over the 2008 study
 • 31% are incorporating online video into their blog sites, a 10% increase over 2008

 “Las Vegas Wedding Palace has traditional wedding chapels (Charming Chapel and Chapel Royale), as well as a
Tropical Paradise Chapel” said general manager, Ann West. "But, we wanted something unique with a Las Vegas
flair for our fourth chapel. I noticed a beautiful red wall in a local restaurant and decided there must be a reason
they were using that color. Once we painted a wall in that brilliant color, everything else just fell in place.”

 The room now includes a blackjack table that helps the minister deal out ‘winning hands’ whether it’s a wedding
ceremony, commitment service, or vow renewal. Seating for guests is available at the well appointed high-top
cocktail tables and a slot machine stands ready in the corner for great photos. (Tokens only, of course, no gaming
here!)

Street lamps, craps table wall decor, and a huge mural of the Vegas skyline complete the chapel.

 “Most of our guests either gasp or break out laughing when we show the Vegas Nights Chapel” added Beverley
Southworth, Chapel Manager, “but it’s already a favorite for many couples. We had a group wedding and a
commitment ceremony in the Vegas Nights Chapel on Valentine’s Day and they loved it.”

 Las Vegas Wedding Palace features traditional weddings, theme weddings (Think Star Wars, Renaissance, or
Gangster). Plus, real Vegas style entertainment for ceremonies, with Elvis, Frank Sinatra and more. Las Vegas
