                   EVERYTHING IS ALRIGHT
Psalm 46:1–9 (NIV84)
1
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in
trouble.
2
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and
the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
3
though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake
with their surging. Selah
4
There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
the holy place where the Most High dwells.
5
God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at
break of day.
6
Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall; he lifts his voice, the
earth melts.
7
The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our
fortress. Selah
8
Come and see the works of the LORD, the desolations he
has brought on the earth.
9
He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth; he breaks
the bow and shatters the spear, he burns the shields with
fire.
In the Light of everything can we say everything is
alright?
     Violence is increasing...
     Prisons are being enlarged...
     Gangs are enlarging…
     Terrorism is increasing…
If you see everything from that point of view you would
say that everything is not alright.

                                                    Sermon # 836

If you went to the Doctor and told him all about your aches,
pains and problems and he said:
     “Everything is alright”
You would probably say: "Doc take a second look."
Or, "we are going to look for another Doctor.”

I am telling you EVERYTHING IS ALRIGHT
Some may differ from me and say: "But you are not looking
from My point of view."
They are correct....because I am not looking from that point
of view.

If you ever want to get a good dose of the blues just
look at it from that point of view.
From that point of view things are falling in.

Our text gives a perfect illustration of that point of view.

Psalms 46:2 ...though the earth be removed, and though
the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; [Though]
the waters thereof roar [and] be troubled, [though] the
mountains shake with the swelling thereof.
Too often we see things that way:
"The earth is being removed."
"The mountains are being carried into the midst of the sea."
Things are shaking, rocking, and rolling...
"The waters are rolling and are troubled and the mountains
shake with the swelling thereof."

                                              Sermon # 836

These words seem to describe the way we see things
in our world right now.
These are days when:
    The earth is being removed
Mountains are carried into the sea
Waters are rolling and are troubled
    Mountains are shaking
Everything appears to be out of hand.
Your problems and my problems appear to be out of
    control.

If the way things appear in the world was our only
reliance, then we could not say Everything is Alright.
     Everything is out of control.

But, you see, we have another reliance.
We have Something else to hold on to.
We need to know there is something other than what we
    are seeing around us.
What could be more terrible than the earth being
removed?
What could be more terrible than the mountains being
carried into the midst of the sea?
Every morning the news gives us another shock wave
of how we see things...
    Planes are falling
    Earth is quaking
    Rivers are flooding
    Volcanoes are erupting

                                              Sermon # 836

   Countries are crumbling
   Bridges are falling
   Wars are raging
   Society is shaking
   Hillsides are burning
   Dictators are arising and falling
   People are starving
   Bombs are exploding

This thing is due to the times we are living in...
     Men's hearts are failing them
     Children are killing parents
     Parents are killing children
These are days of:
     Aids
     Homosexuality
     Murder
     Muggers
     Gangs
     Violence
In light of all of this, Christians are beginning to lose
their zeal.
They are throwing in the towel.
The glitter they use to have is gone.
They are beginning to lose their confidence.
They used to be radiant, alive, and full of faith.
But, when you come through times where mountains
are skipping, the earth is quaking, and waters are
rolling...

                                               Sermon # 836

You can lose your confidence and your faith can grow
weak...

If you are looking at things from that point of view
there is little hope.

When you set down and start reviewing all that is going on
in your life....
     Bills are due
Trouble is in your neighborhood and in your home
     Sickness is on a rampage
     Weakness has attacked your body.

When you look at things from that point of view, things
are not all right!

I am here to tell you that YOU CAN BE ALRIGHT.
You do not have to read the newspaper to get down in the
dumps.
Just look at what is going on in your family.
Most have shocking news in our own families.

Mountains of our lives are shaking and the swelling of
the waters is real...
    The pain goes deep.

BUT IN THE MIDST OF ALL THAT, I HAVE GOOD NEWS.
THE DEVIL CANNOT BRING IN BAD NEWS THAT
CANNOT BE MATCHED WITH GOOD NEWS.

                                               Sermon # 836

For every headline the world has that says how bad things
are, we have a HEAD LINE that says IT IS ALRIGHT.

In the midst of all that is going on, God gives us a
method of victory for our life.
In the Midst of all that is going on God Says: "Be Still."
     We need to be still.
Stop trying to answer all your problems.
Stop trying to work it all out.
     Be still... Get quiet.

Spiritually we need to get quiet.
Spiritually stop fretting and shuffling about.
Don't be troubled by Mountains skipping and seas
   rolling.

When God gets ready they all shall sweetly obey His
will.
He can speak to mountains and say get out of the way.
The earth will obey His will.
      He made the Earth!
The Waters will obey His will.
Be still
      Draw in your wondering mind.
Collect all your doubts and fears.
      Get it all under control.
Be still my soul....My God is on the throne.
The Devil is depending on us to panic.

                                               Sermon # 836

He loves it when we become anxious and do not trust God.

GOD SAYS: "Be still and know that I am God"
Circumstances are not your God.
Mountains skipping are not your God.
Seas rolling are not God...
Your problems are not your God.

GOD SAID: Be still and know that I am God.
God is God.
  Government is not your God.
  Economics is not your God.
God is God.
The God of Jacob is our refuge.
God is God.
The God we serve is God.

BE STILL- get your soul quiet.
   Stop doubt from talking.
   Let faith talk.
Be still and know that I am God.

We are afraid because it appears the world has taken
over.
It looks like the world is not in God's hands.
As we look at this old world it appears that Satan has
   won.
Our children are falling prey to the cunning of a wicked
   society.

                                                Sermon # 836

Dope is encroaching on our neighborhoods.
    Homes are failing.
    Trouble is all around us.

When we get still it looks like we are not winning.
It looks like Satan is winning.

People who used to stand tall and strong, have fallen.
Many people are afraid to even go out at night because it
appears that Satan has won.

It says here: "Be still and know that I am God."
The next phrase says: "I will be exalted among the
heathen"

God said: 'I WILL."
He did not mean: "I MAY BE EXALTED."
He said "I WILL."

These are days when it looks like the heathen has
taken over.
Be still and know that before this is over:
Every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess
    that the Lord is God...

Don't worry about men, God said I SHALL BE EXALTED.
Don't worry about mountains skipping, God said: I shall be
exalted.
Don't worry about seas rolling God said: I shall be exalted.

                                                    Sermon # 836

Folks that don't recognize God, when God is through; they
will bow their knee and acknowledge that the Lord is God.

Be still... God is still on the Throne.
Be still... God has the whole world in His hands.
Be still... He's got you and me in His hands.
Be still... God is bigger than all our problems
He is bigger than all our trials.

He gives us a promise:
Satan is not going to win.
God says: "I WILL BE EXALTED..."

The Heathen will discover Who He is.

If you have never accepted Christ as your Lord and
Savior, you need to know God has your number.
    He knows where you are.
You will exalt Christ sooner or later.

Have you already made Him Lord of your life?
God said I WILL BE EXALTED IN THE EARTH.
According to this Word, God will rule and reign on this
   earth.
He will be exalted among the heathen
He will be exalted in the earth.
This whole World will fall into the hands of God.
He's got it in His hands.

                                               Sermon # 836

    He is our hope.
    He is our salvation.
    He is our High tower.
He is our all and all.

You don’t need to worry because God did not say:
I may be or I'm hoping to be
He doesn't need to ask anyone's permission

He says: I will be exalted...
"I WILL BE EXALTED"

That's good news...

From the way things are looking LIFE IS SEEN AS
SHAKING MOUNTAINS AND SWELLING SEAS.
From God's point of view, EVERYTHING IS GOING TO
BE ALRIGHT...
