   Music & Movement            Responding to music through singing, aesthetics, and expressive movement.
     15 -20 minutes            Musical activities to support auditory discrimination, spatial awareness, and
                               motor development.

    Instructional Lunch        Family style lunch in a supportive social setting in the classroom. Development
       30 minutes              of social and communication skills.

     Rest/Quiet Time           On mats: Rest to soft music and/or individual quiet activities.
       20 minutes

     Group Meeting             Whole/Small group: math mini lesson, math read aloud, focusing on

   Preparation Period          This period should include appropriate curriculum and activities. This

   Music & Movement            Responding to music through singing, aesthetics, and expressive movement.
      20 minutes               Musical activities to support auditory discrimination, spatial awareness, and motor

    Instructional Lunch        Family style lunch in a supportive social setting in the classroom. Development of

                               Children assisting with set up, accountable talk, clean up.

     Rest/Quiet Time           On mats: Rest to soft music and/or individual quiet activities. Look at books,
       45 minutes              drawing.
                               As the year progresses, this quiet time can be shortened to 30 minutes or less.

      Group Meeting            Second reading for children’s pleasure.
       20 minutes              Discussion of the flow of the remainder of the day. Children choose centers.

       Center Time             All recommended centers are open. Students engage in centers of their choice.
       60 minutes              Teacher and assistant interact with children on a small group/one-one basis

          Snack                Snack is provided in the classroom, encouraging social conversation/language
        15 minutes             development. Children participate with set up.

       Gross Motor             Opportunities for children to engage in large muscle/gross motor activities in
       30 minutes              indoor/outdoor settings.

  Reflections/Good-bye         Review of the day, planning for tomorrow
       20 minutes              Greeting parents and informal conversation as children are dismissed. Good-byes.


*One Instructional Meal must be offered such as: breakfast, lunch, or snack.
