Homeland Security and Governor Bobby Jindal Announces the Appointment of
Emergency Preparedness Lynda Nugent Smith to the Louisiana Real Estate
Housing Finance Agency Commission
BATON ROUGE - Today, Governor Bobby Jindal announced the appointment of Lynda Nugent
Smith to the Louisiana Real Estate Commission.
Public Safety The commission serves to protect the public interest in real estate transactions and other real
estate related activities.
State Civil Service According to statute, the commission is comprised of eleven members appointed by the
Transportation & governor, including:
One member appointed from each of the seven Supreme Court districts;
Two members appointed at-large;
Wildlife & Fisheries One member appointed from either the Fourth or the Fifth Congressional District; and
Agriculture & Forestry One member appointed from either the First, Second, Third, Sixth, or Seventh
Attorney General Lynda Nugent Smith, of New Orleans, is a realtor and broker for Keller Williams Realty and
Public Service was formerly a broker manager for Gertrude Gardner, Inc. Smith will be appointed to serve as
an at-large member, as required by statute.
