					      DUVAL HIGH SCHOOL
2006-2007 MANDATORY UNIFORM
            POLICY
Uniforms are required to be worn by all students daily. All uniforms are expected to be
neat and clean. Parents, teachers, administrators, and students formulated the
uniform policy for DuVal High School. It reflects standards held in common by the
DuVal community and incorporates the Prince George’s County Public Schools System-
Wide Dress Code for Students.

Please Note: THE UNIFORM POLICY IS NON-NEGOTIABLE

Young Women:

Slacks: All slacks must be cotton or khaki and appropriately sized to eliminate bagging
or sagging. Slacks are to be worn at the natural waistline. All female students will
wear solid colored slacks permitted in:
                       *Khaki/tan

Shorts: Shorts will be allowed only from April 15th through September 30. Shorts
must be no more than 3 inches above the knee. Solid colored shorts permitted in:
                      *Khaki/tan

Skirts: Skirts must be worn at the natural waistline. Female students may wear solid
colored cotton or khaki skirts. Skirts must be no more than 3 inches above the knee.
Solid colored skirts permitted in:
                       *Khaki/tan

Shirts: All shirts need to be tucked in.
Students may choose from the following:
                      *Black or White Polo (long sleeved, or
                      short sleeved)
                      *Long sleeved white Oxford

 *Uniforms may be purchased from any store as long as they are of the style and
colors approved.

Approved:
                *Students may choose to imprint name and/or graduation year on the right
                side of their shirts in orange thread only!

Not Approved:

                *T-shirts, sleeveless, transparent or sheer materials, tank tops or midriffs
                *Logos and designs, (Only approved School Logo and PG logo.)
                *Jersey knit polo, plaid flannels, denim or camouflage
                *Shirts tied in back
                *Cargo pants, pants with designs or embellishments
Young Men:

Optional Approved Items:
      *Black blazer
      *Black sweater
      *Black or orange vest

These styles and fabrics are NOT permitted:
       *No visible labels or logos on any article of clothing are allowed (ONLY DuVal
High School logos are permitted on uniforms)
       *No stretch, tight, or form fitting clothing
       *No baggy slacks
       *No jeans or denim
       *No hooded clothing
       *No cropped shirts
       *No slippers
       *No ornamental belts (no designs)
       *No blazers or sweaters around the waist
