                   Society for Foodservice Management Undergraduate Merit Scholarship
Amount             $7,500; $5,000; $2,500
Deadline           05/18/2012
Requirements       Online application; high school transcript; essay; proof of restaurant/foodservice-related work
                   experience with a minimum of 400 hours verified by copies of paycheck stubs or letter(s) from
                   employer(s) stipulating number of hours worked; letter of acceptance into an accredited
                   restaurant/foodservice-related post-secondary program; letter of recommendation on letterhead from
                   a current/previous employer.
Eligibility        High school senior with a minimum GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale or be in the top one third of class or
                   have a C+ average. Have performed a minimum of 400 hours of restaurant/foodservice-related work
                   experience. Have applied and gained acceptance into a full-time restaurant/foodservice-related
                   postsecondary program and plan to enroll in a minimum of four terms. Special consideration will be
                   given to students who desire to focus on onsite foodservice (ie. hospital, school, college, corporate
                   dining)

Requirements       Complete application and include 2 letters of recommendation, high school transcript, and personal
                   essay (500 words) describing your educational goals and why Al’s Formal Wear should help you
                   achieve them by investing in your education.
Eligibility        All applicants must be high school seniors at least 17 years of age and have applied to a college
                   and/or university for Fall 2012 admission.

Requirements       Must submit application online as well as an original 500-1000 word essay on one of the following
                   topics: a.) What area of fashion do you intend to pursue? or b.) What specific skill do you most want
                   to develop?
Eligibility        High school seniors who have a passion and drive for a fashion related career and have a
                   demonstrable record of academic success. Must intend to pursue a fashion related field at an
                   accredited post-secondary school or college. Fashion related fields include, but are not limited to, the
                   following programs: Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising, Fashion Marketing, Fashion
                   Management, Fashion Retailing.

Requirements    Essay: write a 500-word essay on the topic, “How I apply high ethical standards using Rotary’s Four-
                Way Test”. Rotary’s Four-Way Test: * Is it the truth? * Is it fair to all concerned? * Will it build
                goodwill and better friendships? * Will it be beneficial to all concerned? Essay must be double-
                spaced, 12 pt. font, 500 words maximum

Requirements    Students must submit an essay of no more than 1000 words in answer to the following question:
                What are your dreams for your future? When you look back on your life in thirty years, what
                would it take for you to consider your life successful?
Eligibility     This award is available to high school seniors and all students attending a post secondary
                educational facility. Scholarships are intended for our future leaders across a wide spectrum of fields
                of study. You are not required to be taking Engineering courses to be eligible.
