FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

LEGENDARY STAR TAKES TIME FOR STUDENTS AND WILL SEE
WHAT HE PASSED FORWARD!

Burt Reynolds was the Number 1 Box Office Star in the world for five consecutive years
(a record unmatched in Hollywood), he has won an Emmy Award, 2 Golden Globe
Awards, 9 Peoples Choice Awards, New York Film Critics Award, An Academy Award
nominee and is one of the most iconic Stars in Hollywood history, but yet what makes
this legend so unique is that he has historically always taken the time to help artists.
MARION, IN, (Nov, 21, 2010) – Burt Reynolds was the first movie star to ever get a million dollars for a
picture and yet in the height of his career he took the time out of his demanding schedule to build a
unique training center (Burt Reynolds Institute For Theatre Training) to inspire students in the arts and
teach them about hard work, passion, and the highs and lows of being a professional artist. Mr.
Reynolds brought in world class talent like Dom Deluise, Carol Burnett, Sally Fields, Charles Nelson
Reilly, Hollywood and Broadway producers, writers, and directors to educate and give his students every
advantage possible.

Inspire he did! Mr. Reynolds has spawned hundreds of talented people in the industry and planted
seeds of hope all over. One of his former students, Mark Fauser, who went on to co-write (with another
of Mr. Reynolds protégés Brent Briscoe) Evening Shade, Waking Up In Reno, The Right To Remain
Silent, and 6 other studio films, is now The Executive Director of the Community School of the Arts in
Marion Indiana.

“Students from all over the region come to CSA in Marion Indiana and in my opinion this all goes back to
Burt Reynolds” says Mark Fauser. Burt Reynolds, a former football star, “Always instilled teamwork,
passion and hard work and that is what it has taken to build The Community School of the Arts.”

After being an apprentice at Mr. Reynolds School in 1986, Fauser became Burt Reynolds personal
assistant in 1990 and was hired to act and write for Burt’s television show Evening Shade, various
movies, and commercial work. Reynolds even introduced Fauser to his wife of 24 years and gave them
furniture for their empty home in Los Angeles.

After all of the incredible kind acts for Fauser and his peers, Fauser emotionally asked “why do you do all
of this for us?” and Reynolds response was “Because Jimmy Stewart did it for me. You pass it forward.”

On December 17th Burt Reynolds will come to Marion Indiana to see what he passed forward as the
students and some professional performers from CSA will produce an original musical variety show called
BELLS ARE RINGING. Mr. Reynolds will make a special appearance in the show and it will also star
Michael Deluise, son of long time Reynolds friend and screen cohort Dom Deluise, and John D’Aquino
who is also a former Burt Reynolds student who starred more recently in the Disney Channel Show “Cory
In The House.” The show will be an emotional reunion!

(John D’Aquino and Michael Deluise in a CSA Christmas production. They will reprise their roles)
Fauser, is humbled by his Master Teacher coming to town and working with up and coming actors from
the Mid-West and seeing the school he helped inspire. In addition to making a special guest appearance
in the show, Mr. Reynolds is going to teach an acting workshop at the Community School of the Arts.

(The Master teacher, Reynolds with some of his apprentices.)

The Community School of the Arts is a non for profit art school that started in 1995 in the basement of a
church with a phone line going into a board member’s home. In 2001, they considered closing the doors
of the school as the church they were housed in was about
to dissolve. Through a hard working board, wonderful
teachers and great community support the CSA rallied.
Last year CSA ascertained an 18 thousand square foot
building on the downtown Square of Marion Indiana and has
now become a full scale Art school.

Indiana)
CSA has a wide variety of classes for all ages in the Performing, Visual and Martial Arts.

Last weekend CSA had an Art Auction that was also indirectly inspired by Burt Reynolds. The auction
raised 16 thousand dollars for local visual artists and the school. Mr. Reynolds was often known to take
talented visual artists who he saw struggling and would inspire them to get a series of their work together
and then invite them to his home where he would hold a celebrity auction to make a difference in that
hungry artists life.
Fauser was told that one Artist who struggled to pay his rent was blessed to have Reynolds hold an
auction on his behalf and by the end of the evening the artist was no longer struggling and in fact went
from rags to riches earning 500 thousand dollars in an evening.

Fauser is excited to see what other lives will be touched and inspired by the legendary Burt Reynolds.
