Fees, Charges and Business Arrangements
The College is committed to providing your daughter with a quality education encompassing the values of:

Fees are set by the College Board taking into account anticipated State and Australian Government Grants and
incorporate all items known to be an integral part of the curriculum. The Boarding Fee covers full board and
lodging, laundering of linen, routine nursing and some transportation. The College offers a range of payment
options; fees are to be paid in accordance with the option selected.
An annual statement of account is forwarded at the start of the year together with a payment option selection
form. This form must be returned to the College by the specified date.
The College Board reserves the right to alter, at any time, fees contained within this document.

The Amenities Levy covers incidental charges that occur throughout the year. The Amenities Levy is not charged for Years 11 and 12 as costs
are included in individual subject fees as listed below.

*The College subsidises 50% of the cost of INSTEP and VET Programs. These fees are non refundable once class lists have been determined.
Due to allocation of budgets based on student numbers enrolled for subjects, subject fees are non refundable if a student changes subjects
after commencement of the school year.
Students will not be eligible to participate in optional excursions (eg Canberra Trip, Language Tour, Punmu Immersion Program, Drama Tour)
unless all tuition fees and other compulsory charges are fully paid or are up to date as per the standard Payment Options 1 to 4.

APPLICATION FEE FOR ADMISSION (GST INCLUSIVE)
To commence the enrolment process, a non refundable fee of $120 is payable to cover administration costs
associated with enrolment. The fee should be paid upon submission of the Application for Admission form. This fee does not
guarantee an interview or a place at the College. Please contact the College Registrar on +61 8 6330 0226 for further enrolment information.
ENROLMENT CONFIRMING FEE (NO GST APPLIES)
A non refundable confirming fee of $900 must be paid on acceptance of an offer for your daughter’s place at the College. This fee is
not tax deductible and must be submitted with the College Day/Boarding Admission form within two weeks following an offer of a place
to confirm registration. Should this not occur within the specified time, the offer will expire.
COLLEGE BUILDING CONTRIBUTIONS
The compulsory Building Levy of $1000 per family ensures the College is able to continue building contemporary facilities designed to
optimise the learning environment for every student. This fee is not tax deductible.
The College conducts a voluntary Annual Giving Program, administered by the College’s Community Relations & Development Office. The
Annual Giving Program enables parents to make tax deductible voluntary donations to the College for building projects.
Payment of fees in one instalment in advance. The payment is due and payable by 25 February 2012. Parents using this
option will qualify for a 3% discount on tuition fees only. This option is available via direct debit from bank accounts
using the Direct Debit Scheme or by providing the College with your credit card details for automatic payment on 25
February 2012. In addition, payment may be made by cash, cheque or by direct deposit into the College bank account.
Please note, families who receive a Scholarship or Catherine McAuley Bursary are NOT eligible to receive the 3% discount.
Payment of fees in three (3) instalments due on 25 February, 25 May and 25 August 2012. This option is available via direct debit
from bank accounts using the Direct Debit Scheme or by providing the College with your credit card details for automatic payment on
the dates specified. In addition, payment may be made by cash, cheque or by direct deposit into the College bank account.
Payment of fees in nine (9) equal instalments due on the 25th of each month from February through to October 2012. This option is
available via direct debit from bank accounts using the Direct Debit Scheme or by providing the College with your credit card details for
automatic payment on the dates specified.
Payment of fees in eighteen (18) equal instalments due on the 10th and 25th of each month from February through to October 2012.
This option is only available via direct debit from bank accounts using the Direct Debit Scheme or by providing the College with your credit
card details for automatic payment on the dates specified.
* From 2012, the College will only accept Mastercard and Visa credit card payments.
SPECIAL FEE PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS
To be arranged with the Business Manager in advance.
Families who wish to split their account between two parents/guardians must provide written advice to the College, signed by both
parents/guardians, authorising the account to be divided. The authority should be returned to the Finance Office by 10 January 2012.
A reduction of 10% is allowed on the tuition fee only for each additional sibling in attendance at the same time. All other costs must
be paid in full.
Any parent in genuine financial hardship may apply for a Catherine McAuley Bursary for concession on tuition fees only.
Application forms can be downloaded from the College website at www.santamaria.wa.edu.au/enrolment/bursaries and must be received
at the College by 25 February 2012. Current Catherine McAuley Bursary recipients must reapply annually for the consideration and
continuation of their bursary.
STUDENT WITHDRAWAL Notice of withdrawal must be given in writing to the Principal. Verbal notification is not considered due
Due notice of the withdrawal of a day student requires a full term’s notice, in writing to the Principal. If due notice is not
provided, one third of the current annual tuition fee must be paid in lieu of notice.
Boarding students are expected to remain as boarders for the full year. Due notice of a student’s withdrawal from the Boarding
Community requires a full semester’s notice, in writing to the Principal. If due notice is not provided, full annual fees are
payable in lieu of notice. There will be no refunds for Year 12 boarders withdrawing in Term 4.
FEES NOT PAID
An administration fee of $30 per month (or part thereof) will be charged to accounts not paid by their due date. This fee will also apply
to failed direct debit and direct credit card instalments.
The College Board reserves the right to take legal action for the recovery of fees not paid. Any expenses, costs or disbursements incurred
by the College in recovering any outstanding fees and charges, including debt collection agency fees and solicitor costs, shall be charged
to the account. Continuance of enrolment cannot be guaranteed unless all outstanding fees and charges have been paid or an alternative
arrangement has been made with the Principal.
GOODS AND SERVICES TAX
Education, in general, is GST free. Some charges are, however, taxable.
FEE REVIEW DATE
All fees are reviewed annually for the commencement of the new school year.
It is strongly recommended that parents check their health and general insurance policies to ensure adequate medical, personal property
and liability insurance cover. Students at the College are covered by the Catholic Church Insurance Students Accident Insurance Policy. This
policy provides a limited cover only (excluding all Medicare services including the Medicare gap). For further information, call the School
Care Accident Helpline on 1300 138 498 and quote policy number 06PAE111668. Please note: the College is not liable for damage
to, or loss of, a student’s personal property.
Boarding Away from Home Allowance (BAHA)

Assistance for Isolated Children
A basic grant is available to eligible families. Enquiries: 13 23 18.
This is an age related scheme, paying benefits for secondary students sixteen years of age and over. Further information may be
obtained by telephoning Centrelink on 13 24 90.
Secondary Assistance Scheme
The Minister for Education has approved the following Educational Programme Allowance for 2012: Years 8 - 12 ($235) plus
Clothing Allowance ($115).
Eligibility for the scheme is dependent on parents or legal guardians holding one of the following cards: Centrelink Family Health
Care Card, Centrelink Pensioner Concession Card or Veterans’ Affairs Pensioner Concession Card and have children whose birth
date is on or after 1 January 1994. Application forms are available from the Finance Office.
