Announcements Procedures and Decorum
Before you begin  When the bell rings to end 2nd hour go to your locker ,if needed, then report to the main office  The daily announcements will be taped on the PA system  Please review the announcements for spelling and/or sentence errors  Practice making the announcements so you can have the correct voice inflection and sound quality  Please wait a couple of minutes after the bell rings to begin 3rd hour before making the announcements Operating the PA system To start  Gently press down levers 5-17.  Turn the bottom black and green round button all the way to the right  Press down the square green button and speak into the speaker  As long as the square green button is pressed down, people will hear you
When you are finished

           

Release the square green button Gently press up levers 5-17 to their original positions Turn the bottom black and green round button all the way to the left Press down the square green button and speak into the speaker Give the announcement script to Ms. Travis Speak slowly, clearly, and pleasantly into the microphone Project your voice (Talk up) Speak in clear sentences DO NOT express personal grievances DO NOT try to be a comedian DO NOT sound angry or sad when speaking DO NOT have gum, candy, or cough drops in your mouth

Posture
 Stand erect while speaking  Make sure your head is level and your mouth is facing the microphone  Have a pleasant facial expression

Misc.
 If you are going to be absent or late to school, please call the office and notify them that your are schedule to make the announcements for that day  A student will not be permitted to make the announcement again if he/she is in violation of the announcement decorum guidelines and/or is absent during his/her scheduled announcement time and does not tell anyone.
