Event Overview:
This session is designed to provide attendees with the basic understanding of identifying and
responding to moisture and mold growth in various types of buildings. This session is designed to
assist building owners, property managers, facility managers, EH&S professionals or anyone else
seeking to better understand and resolve problems associated with water intrusion and mold
contamination. Issues concerning hazardous building materials, including asbestos-containing
materials and lead-based paint, will also be discussed.

Marco Di Piramo, Asbestos, Lead, and Mold Program Manager
IHI Environmental

Marco Di Piramo is the Asbestos, Lead, and Mold Program Manager in IHI Environmental’s
Emeryville, California office. Marco has been with IHI for over 7 years and has worked in the
Environmental Consulting industry for over 13 years. At IHI, and in the past 11 years in this
industry, Marco has conducted microbial investigations for water intrusion and mold growth in
various types of buildings and facilities in the Western United States, including industrial sites,
medical facilities, residential and commercial buildings, and schools.

Marco’s microbial consulting experience includes working with building owners, facility managers,
environmental health and safety managers, insurance companies, and attorneys. Marco is certified
by the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health as a Certified Asbestos Consultant and
by the California Department of Public Health as a Lead Inspector/Assessor and Project Monitor.
