alongwith their prescribed qualifications are available on the university website:

         Last date for submission of duly filled application form is 5th May, 2012 up to 5.45 p.m.
The desired candidates are required to download the application form, available on the university
website : www.nagpuruniversity.org only and the application form should not be changed in any
manner. Completed application form in 11 copies should be submitted in legal size paper alongwith
attested photocopies of certificates, testimonials and registration fees of Rs.500/- for Open Category
and Rs.300/- for backward class categories by way of Crossed Demand Draft payable at Nagpur and
drawn in favour of “Registrar, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur”.

1)     REGISTRAR
       Pay Band of Rs.37400-67000,
       Grade Pay of Rs. 10000 – For Teaching
       Grade Pay of Rs. 8900 – For Non-teaching
Qualifications and Experience :
       i)     A Master's Degree with at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent grade of „B‟
              in the U.G.C. 7 point scale. The condition of 55% of marks at Master‟s level is
              relaxable in case of applicants who are already in the University system.
              A relaxation of 5% from 55% to 50% of the marks at the Master‟s level is
              permissible for S.C/S.T. candidates.
              A relaxation of 5% from 55% to 50% of the marks is permissible to the Ph.D.
              Degree holders, who have passed their Master‟s Degree prior to 19th
              September, 1991.
       ii)    At least 15 years teaching experience as Lecturer (Senior scale) / Lecturer with
              8 years experience in Reader‟s Grade along with experience in educational
              administration.
                                               OR
              Comparable experience in research establishment and/or other institutions of
              Higher Education.

              15 years of Administrative Experience, of which 8 years shall be as Deputy
              Registrar or an equivalent post.
       iii)   (a)     In addition to the above qualifications, the candidate shall possess
                      the following qualification in computer operation within two years
                      from the date of appointment, if does not possess. “A Certificate in
                      computer operation prescribed by the Director of Information
                      Technology, Govt. of Maharashtra.
                                                 OR
                      Certificate of D.O.E.A.C. Societies “C.C.C.” or “O” level or “A”
                      level or “B” level or “C” level or MS-CIT or GECT Certificate of
                      Maharashtra State, Higher & Technical Education Board.
                              However, the qualification at (iii) (a) shall be exempted to the
                      departmental candidates of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur
                      University, who have passed the prescribed Computer Skill Test of
                      the respective level, conducted by the University.
              (b)     Those who have passed the following examinations shall be treated
                      as having passed the above prescribed computer qualification :
                      (i)     Degree and Diploma in Computer Technology / Computer
                              Engineering / Information Technology and; P.G. / Advance
                              Diploma in Computer Application, ADCSSAA awarded by
                              the Board of Technical Education, Maharashtra State.
                      (ii)    Degree / Diploma awarded by all the Govt. recognized
                              Universities in Computer Technology / Computer
                              Engineering / Information Technology and P.G. / Advanced
                              Diploma in Computer Application, Computer Application
                              System & Analysis.
              (c)     The candidates from the University or from the service of Govt. of
                      Maharashtra, who have crossed the age of 50 years shall be
                      exempted from submitting the certificate of computer qualification.

       iv)    Ph.D. shall be desirable qualification.
       v)     Proficiency in Marathi.
 Age :        Unless already in the service of Universities or affiliated colleges are not less
       than 45 years of age. Age of Superannuation shall be 58 years. However, in the case of
       person coming from teaching cadre or teaching equivalent cadres, it shall be 60 years.
2)     CONTROLLER OF EXAMINATIONS
       Pay Band of Rs.37400-67000,
       Grade Pay of Rs. 10000 – For Teaching

Qualifications and Experience :

             at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven point scale
             and consistently good academic record set out in these Regulations.
      ii)    At least thirteen years as a Deputy Librarian in a University Library or eighteen
             years experience as a College Librarian.
      iii)   Evidence of innovative library service and organization of published work.
      iv)    Desirable : A M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree in library science/information
             science/documentation/ achieves and manuscript – keeping.
      v)     A relaxation of 5% may be provided, from 55% to 50% of the marks at the
             Master‟s level for the S.C/S.T. category candidates.
      vi)    A relaxation of 5% may be provided, from 55% to 50% of the marks to the
             Ph.D. Degree holders, who have passed their Master‟s Degree prior to 19th
             September, 1991.
      vii)   Good knowledge of computer in general.
4) DEPUTY LIBRARIAN
     [Pay Band of Rs.15600-39100 with the Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 8000/-]

Qualifications & Experience :
     i)     A Master‟s Degree in Library Science/Information Science/documentation with
            at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven point
            scale and consistently good academic record.
     ii)    Five years experience as an Assistant University Librarian / College Librarian.
     iii)   Evidence of innovative library service and organization of published work and
            professional commitment, computerization of library.
     iv)    Desirable : A M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree in library science/information
            science/documentation/achieves and manuscript – keeping/computerization of
            library.
     v)     A relaxation of 5% may be provided, from 55% to 50% of the marks at the
            Master‟s level for the S.C/S.T. category candidates.
     vi)    A relaxation of 5% may be provided, from 55% to 50% of the marks to the
            Ph.D. Degree holders, who have passed their Master‟s Degree prior to 19th
            September, 1991.
     vii)   Good knowledge of computer in general.
5) ASSISTANT LIBRARIAN
     [Pay Band of Rs.15600-39100 with the Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 6000/-]

Qualifications & Experience :
     i)     A Master‟s Degree in Library Science/Information Science/documentation
            science or equivalent professional degree with at least 55% of the marks (or an
            equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and a
            consistently good academic record with knowledge of computerization of
            library.
     ii)    Qualifying in the national level test conducted for the purpose by the UGC or
            any other agency approved by the UGC.
     iii)   However, candidates, who are, or have been awarded Ph.D. degree in
            accordance with the “University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and
            Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree), Regulations 2009 shall be exempted
            from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET
            for recruitment and appointment of University Assistant Librarian/College
            Librarian
     iv)    A relaxation of 5% may be provided, from 55% to 50% of the marks at the
            Master‟s level for the S.C/S.T. category candidates.
     v)     A relaxation of 5% may be provided, from 55% to 50% of the marks to the
            Ph.D. Degree holders, who have passed their Master‟s Degree prior to 19th
            September, 1991.
     vi)    Good knowledge of computer in general.
6) COLLEGE LIBRARIAN
     [Pay Band of Rs.15600-39100 with the Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 6000/-]

Qualifications & Experience :
     i)     A Master‟s Degree in Library Science/Information Science/documentation
            science or equivalent professional degree with at least 55% of the marks (or an
            equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and a
            consistently good academic record with knowledge of computerization of
            library.
     ii)    Qualifying in the national level test conducted for the purpose by the UGC or
            any other agency approved by the UGC.
     iii)   However, candidates, who are, or have been awarded Ph.D. degree in
            accordance with the “University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and
            Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree)”, Regulations 2009 shall be exempted

7) PRINCIPAL SCIENTIFIC OFFICER
     [Pay Band of Rs.37400-67000 + Grade Pay of Rs. 8900 (Rs.10000/-
     A.G.P. for the candidate from teaching profession)]

Qualifications & Experience
     i)     Ph.D./M.E./M.Tech. in instrumentation or allied field with atleast 55% marks or
            equivalent grade with good academic record.
     ii)    Atleast 12 years experience in reputed laboratories/industries of which atleast 5
            years should be in a senior position and should also provide evidence of his/her
            achievements by way of high quality publications in instrumentation and / or
            patents related to new designs and processes in instrumentation.
     iii)   Good knowledge of computer in general.
8) SENIOR SCIENTIFIC OFFICER
     [Pay Band of Rs.15600-39100 + Grade Pay of Rs. 7600]

Qualifications & Experience
     i)     Ph.D./M.E./M.Tech. in instrumentation or allied field with atleast 55% marks or
            equivalent grade with good academic record.
     ii)    Atleast 8 years experience in reputed laboratories/industries in
            production/maintenance/design of instruments.
     iii)   Good knowledge of computer in general.
9) SCIENTIFIC OFFICER
     [Pay Band of Rs.9300-34800 + Grade Pay of Rs. 5400]

Qualifications & Experience
     i)     M.Sc./B.E./B.Tech. in instrumentation or allied field with atleast 55% marks or
            equivalent grade with good academic record.
     ii)    M.Phil, M.Tech. & Ph.D. in the relevant subject as desirable qualifications for
            recruitment to the post of Lecturer.
     iii)   Minimum qualifications should not be relaxed even in respect of candidates
            who have degrees like M.Tech./M.Phil./Ph.D.
     iv)    Atleast 5 years experience in reputed laboratories/industries in
            production/maintenance/design of instruments.
     v)     Good knowledge of computer in general.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
For the Post of Registrar & Controller of Examinations
   (1)    Qualifications and age shall be considered as on last date of application.
   (2)    The appointment to the post of Registrar and Controller of Examinations shall
          be for a term of five years and shall be eligible for re-appointment for only one
          more term of five years.
   (3)    “B” in the 7 point scale with letter grades O,A,B,C,D,E, & F shall be regarded as
          equivalent of 55% wherever the grading system is followed as prescribed by
          U.G.C.

   (4)    An applicant is required to submit separate application for each post.
   (5)    Application(s) made on plain paper shall not be entertained under any
          circumstances, whatsoever. Also, applications received by E-mail & Fax shall
          not be entertained.
   (6)    Those who are in service should apply through proper channel.
   (7)    Applicants who are in the employment shall route their application through
          their employer. However, in case of an “anticipated delay” such applicants may
          submit an advance copy of their applications. In the event of applications duly
          forwarded by the employer, not reaching the Registrar within the stipulated
          time, the applicant concerned shall be required to furnish a “No Objection
          Certificate” from his/her Employer, at the time of Interview, in absence of
          which he/she shall not be permitted to appear for the interview.
   (8)    Incumbents shall be entitled to pensionary benefits as per rules prescribed by
          the Govt. of Maharashtra from time to time.
   (9)    Post carry usual allowances and benefits as admissible under University rules in
          force from time to time.
   (10)   The candidate shall have to submit along with the application form, a
          declaration in FORM „A‟ as per the rules prescribed by the Govt. of
          Maharashtra in respect of a small family vide Notification
          No.SRV.2000/CR(17/2000)XII, dated 28.03.2005
   (11)   Eleven copies of the application form alongwith attested true copies of the
          relevant enclosures to all the Eleven Copies shall be submitted alongwith
          copies of application form, failing which it will be treated as rejected. Attested
          copies or reprints of testimonials will not be returned. Original documents will
          have to be produced at the time of interview.
   (12)   All copies of application form should be filled in by the candidates in his/her
          own handwriting. Xerox copies of the application shall not be entertained.

      Rs. 500/- for open category or Rs. 300/- S.C., S.T. & V.J. (A)/N.T.(B/C/D) categories
      by way of demand draft drawn in favour of Registrar, Rashtrsant Tukadoji Maharaj
      Nagpur University, Nagpur.

(3)   Application(s) made on plain paper shall not be entertained under any circumstances,
      whatsoever.

(4)   Applications received by E-mail and Fax shall not be entertained.

(5)   Qualifications and Age shall be considered as on last date of application.

(6)   Eleven copies of the application form alongwith attested true copies of the relevant
      enclosures to all the Eleven Copies shall be submitted alongwith copies of application

(8)   For the post of University Librarian, the incumbent should submit his/her bio-data
      and five copies each of reprints of three major publications of which one could be a
      book or research report, other than the copies with application form and for the post of
      Deputy Librarian should submit his/her bio-data and reprints of three copies each of
      his/her three major publications separately other than the copies with applications form.

(9)   Precise statement supplied alongwith Application Form should also be filled in by
      applicant and submitted alongwith the application

(10) Prescribed qualifications for the above mentioned posts would be as per the norms/
     Regulations of UGC formulated in consultations with AICTE and as approved by the
     Government of Maharashtra.

(11) NET / SLET /SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in
     disciplines for which NET / SLET /SET is not conducted.

(12) The Ph.D. Degree shall be a mandatory qualification for the appointment of University
     Librarian and Deputy Librarian through direct recruitment.

(13) The period of time taken by candidates to acquire M. Phil. and/ or Ph.D. Degree shall
     not be considered as teaching / research experience to be claimed for appointment to
     the teaching positions.

(14) The minimum period of probation shall be one year extendable by a maximum period
     of one more year in case of unsatisfactory performance.

(16) Reservation for women will be as per the norm prescribed by State Govt. of
     Maharashtra.
(17) Candidates belonging to the reserved categories specified by the state Government of
     Maharashtra shall be considered.

(18) Candidates from reserved category who are domiciled outside the Maharashtra will be
     treated as Open category candidates as per Maharashtra Govt. Circular No. CBS-
     1290/23116/                 dated 24-8-1995.

(19) As per the Govt. resolution dated 31 st October, 2005 a new “Defined contribution
     pension scheme” has been made applicable to the Govt. servant, who are recruited on
     or after 1st November, 2005. The same will be applicable to employees of this Institute.

(20) The candidate shall have to submit along with the application form, a declaration form
     „A‟ as per the rules Prescribed by the Govt. of Maharashtra in respect of small family
     vide Notification No. SRV.2000/CR/(17/2000) XII, dated- 28-3-2005.

(21) Candidates should attach attested copies of caste validity certificate and non-creamy
     layer certificate wherever is applicable.

(12) As per the Govt. resolution dated 31 st October, 2005 a new “Defined contribution
     pension scheme” has been made applicable to the Govt. servant, who are recruited on
     or after 1st November, 2005. The same will be applicable to employees of this Institute.

(13) The candidate shall have to submit along with the application form, a declaration form
     „A‟ as per the rules Prescribed by the Govt. of Maharashtra in respect of small family
     vide Notification No. SRV.2000/CR/(17/2000) XII, dated- 28-3-2005.

(14) Candidates should attach attested copies of caste validity certificate and non-creamy
     layer certificate wherever is applicable.

(15) The right is reserved with the University to fill or not to fill the posts or to modify /
     alter / cancel the advertisement.

(16) Applicants who are in the employment shall route their application through their
     employer. However, in case of an “anticipated delay” such applicants may submit an
     advance copy of their applications. In the event of applications duly forwarded by the
     employer, not reaching the Registrar within the stipulated time, the applicant concerned
     shall be required to furnish a “No Objection Certificate” from his/her Employer, at
     the time of Interview, in absence of which he/she shall not be permitted to appear for
     the interview.

(17) An applicant furnishing any incorrect or false information shall stand disqualified.

(18) Envelope containing the application forms should bear a caption in capital letters an

(19) University shall not be accountable for delays of any sort, including the postal delay, if
     any.

(20) Applicants shall not be entitled for any reimbursement in terms of TA/DA towards
     attending the interview.

(21) Canvassing in any form shall amount to disqualification.

(22) Application(s) incomplete in any respect shall be rejected without any further
     communication.

(23) Application complete in all respects should reach the undersigned on or before
     5th May, 2012 up to 5.45 p.m.

(24) The candidates who had applied earlier in reference to Advertisement
     No.Estt./08/U/K/506 dated 26-03-2008 for the posts of Principal Scientific Officer &
     Senior Scientific Officer (USIC) should apply fresh against this advertisement.
