Aviation Software Group
Aviation is one of the world’s most challenging industries. That means it needs

At Cambridge Online, we develop and deliver specialist software applications
to mid-market and enterprise organisations that provide Aircraft Maintenance

Cambridge Online provides a wide range of technology and infrastructure
products and services to suit all types and sizes of commercial, education and
research organisations. Our software and hardware products can be deployed
together as part of a ‘turnkey’ solution, giving a single vendor options for IT
challenges and requirements.
We also have the capability and expertise to address standalone or integrated
hardware and infrastructure requirements, designed to meet specific needs,
and covering such areas as servers, storage, secure networks, structured
cabling, infrastructure and telecoms.
Whether we deliver our infrastructure solutions as part of a ‘turnkey’ offering

Despite the corporate structure, we encourage approachability and
accessibility. Everyone has a role outline and clear objectives, though roles do
develop and grow over time.
This role reports to the Chair and sits on the Board to play a strong active
leadership and commercial role, facing inwards as well as outwards. This role
extends from vision through to implementation. The role holder is
accountable for defining and executing (through others) the business strategy
to meet the shareholders’ objectives.
Although he/she will need to be visionary, the role-holder will need to be able
to step into an operational mode, as necessary, and be able to support
implementation of the defined strategy.
He/she will be expected to be self-supporting in terms of secretarial and admin
activity but will have the assistance of a receptionist to make meeting
arrangements and the like. He/she will work through all the functional heads
to implement the strategy that he/she has played a key part in defining, along
with the Chair, and bringing Board members along with him/her.
Each member of the Board brings a particular functional expertise. All bring a
wide commercial background with a track record of growth and delivery. In
addition there are a number of Non Executive Directors. As a whole, the Board
is accountable to the shareholders.
Specifically, the main accountabilities of the role are divided into the following

Eligible candidates must be able to deliver the activities defined above and will
relish the opportunity to give input for growth and change at Board level,
having already had a successful track record at this level of seniority.
The role is for an experienced and qualified (by experience) leader with the
track record for high level commercial input that generally is expected at Board
He/she will have a thorough understanding and some sound experience of this
sort of role in an environment such as this. The post holder will have excellent

very senior one; a track record of the application of business acumen and
realistic commercialism within a leadership role are paramount. The individual
appointed will need to have top class relationships with each Board member
and win the trust of the Board as a whole and be seen as a clear leader.
Ideally we are looking for the following:
A senior and experienced manager and leader
Working knowledge and sound active understanding of most or all of the
support activities - operations, sales, marketing, finance, facilities and HR
and he/she will be an expert in at least one of these

Conditional Offer of Appointment
Any offer to a successful candidate will be conditional upon pre-appointment
Receipt of at least two satisfactory written references.
Those candidates who are long-listed will be interviewed by Integrated
Thereafter, those short-listed will then be subject to a further interview at the
company’s premises and will go through an assessment centre designed
around the competencies required for effective performance in the role.
Compensation and Details of Employment
Salary: Basic in the region of £90k
Benefits will include a Company Car Allowance, a Pensions Plan and
Death in Service Benefit
Working hours: 35 hour working week
(The role holder would be expected to work hours as necessary for the
proper performance of the role)
A bonus that reflects the contribution the individual has made to the
profitability and success of the business around clearly defined targets
Annual leave: 25 days (in addition to Bank Holidays).
