					      Drama League of Ireland Summer School Bursary 2012



North Tipperary County Council wishes to support the development and training of individuals
and groups in the area of drama. The dissemination of knowledge and skills to drama groups,
youth theatres, schools and other clubs and organisations can both raise standards and
enhance levels of participation in this artform.

There is no application form for this Bursary. North Tipperary County Council invites interested
individuals to apply for the Bursary which will enable successful applicants to attend the Drama
League of Ireland Annual Residential Summer School.

In 2012, the Summer School will take place from Saturday 28th July to Saturday 4th August at
the University of Limerick. There will be seven courses on offer, each course taught by a
professional theatre practitioner.

The scholarship will cover single room accommodation with en-suite facilities, all meals and
tuition. Travel costs will not be included.

Eligibility: Applicants must be living and working in the North Tipperary Administrative
area, be 18 years of age and submit the following:

(A)     A full and up-to-date C.V which makes clear the applicant’s experience in drama,
        or involvement with drama through youth or community work

(B)     A signed letter applying for the bursary, explaining how the bursary would
        benefit the applicant, or a specific group.

An independent selection committee will assess applications for the bursary. Their decision will
be final.

North Tipperary County Council reserve the right not to award a bursary, if it believes the
interest of the Local Authority, the bursary and the applicants would be best served by this
course of action.
