                    THE MEDITERRANEAN

The inspiration for Furla’s Spring Summer 12 Collection comes from the wonderful photographic
book on the Tuscan Hotel Il Pellicano taken by the late American photographers Slim Aarons and
John Swope and German photographer Jurgen Teller. It draws on the intense and unexpected
colours of the Mediterranean and draws from nature for its choice of shapes and materials.

The collection is aimed at the dynamic woman who loves to travel and requires comfortable, roomy,
practical and multifunctional bags. With this woman in mind, Furla has developed lines with an
equestrian and bohemian flavour, reworking them in a contemporary style. The collection mixes
bags with shoulder straps, unusual forms and constructions, to create unique pieces for the
woman’s wardrobe.

Blue is the colour of the season, representing the sea and sky in all of its tones and shades. In a
refined light-and-shadow effect, it is contrasted with black and white – representing rocks and
pebbles – and with shades that appear to be faded by the sun. Reds are combined with the warm
brown of the earth, honey, hazel and corn yellow. Gold and silver complement this vibrant,
evocative palette.

Materials used also come from Italian nature and tradition, blended and mixed in order to create
truly unique effects. High-tech and waterproof neoprene (rubber) is an ideal offbeat choice seen in
the bright, colourful and fun Candy collection – ideal for travel retail with its superb entry price
points of just €160. Candy BE77, for example in Azzurro green combines a rubber gel plain body with
python look base band, mixed with brown leather top handles and detachable strap. € 260

Other styles mix buffalo hide with a reptile-skin look, vintage-effect leather and coarse salt & pepper
canvas. Globetrotter, for example, contrasts Anice blue body in grained buffalo nubuck with coffee
trim, shoulder straps and insets; while Amalfi mixes block colours of beige and latte for a bold, yet
sophisticated look. Price points € 170 - 490

FURLA UOMO. The men’s collection is similarly designed for travellers – the successful businessman
who loves to surround himself with traditional yet time innovative objects combining high quality
with extreme attention to detail. With this in mind, Furla has developed two concepts, one aimed at
business and the other at leisure.

The business line has a classic, formal look. Extremely light and structured to guarantee maximum
functionality, yet at the same time highly refined using skins such as brushed calfskin, crocodile
effect leather and a new texture of refined micro grin. Computer cases, briefcases with expandable
pockets and compact trolley cases are joined by ultra-flat, simple and elegant shopping bags – all
designed with extreme functionality in mind. The colour palette is classic black, blue and ivory, with
accents of dove grey and bottle green. Price points are € 135-340.

For the young, casual man, Furla Uomo offers messenger bags, shoppers and briefcases plus travel
bags in two sizes. An unusual bucket-shaped gym bag completes the assortment with a casual
flavour and strong fashion undercurrent. Deerskin, hide, woven hide and leather, canvas and
washed nylon are the principal materials used in classic tones of black and blue lightened with
natural nuances of ivory, honey, coffee and blue. Price points are € 135-340.

FURLA TALENT HUB. This season’s Furla Talent Hub collection is named Leitmotiv, taking its
inspiration from the magic, mystery and drama of Tarot cards. The Sun and the Moon – antithetical
opposing figures with strong symbolic values – feature strongly in this capsule collection of lightly
padded cotton bags.

Developed around the concept of the Shopper, reworked in terms of dimensions and embellished
with new details, such as outer zipped pockets, there are two colour variations available: a yellow
background for the Sun print and a blue background for the Moon, creating a soft and refined effect.

For the evening and more formal occasions there is a variety of bags with a vintage flavour featuring
the characteristic pouch form. Shapes include versions with an asymmetrical clasp which are fun and
‘cool’ creating an optical effect of a bag sliced in half. Great attention has been paid to the finishing
details from the small card charms that hang from all the bags to the contrasting logoed linings that
create amusing colour effects between the exterior and interior. Price points are € 110-260.
