Admissions: CSU Channel Islands RN to BSN can be taken in 14 month (Fast Track) or 22 month format.
1. RN to BSN (22 month) is admitted in Fall term only.
2. RN to BSN Fast Track (14 month) is admitted in Summer term only.
Program admission is contingent: upon meeting minimum requirements. Upon placement in a clinical
rotation students must pass a physical exam, drug screen and background check.
The following Prerequisites (or equivalent) must be completed prior to admission to the nursing
program with a grade of C or better.
BIO 210 Anatomy and Physiology (4)
BIO 211 Anatomy and Physiology (4)
BIO 217 Medical Microbiology (4)
CHEM 110 Chemistry of Life (4) /Or CHEM 121 General Chemistry (4)
COMM 101 Public Speaking (3)
ENG 105 Composition and Rhetoric
Any GE B3 Math (statistics preferred)

License: Have or be eligible to acquire a valid CA RN license.
Degree: Be a graduate of a BRN approved pre-license program from an accredited educational
institution with a GPA overall of 2.0 or greater and no grade <C in the prerequisite and nursing
courses.
Application Period: Applications to both CSU Channel Islands & Nursing Department
1. RN to BSN: May 1 – July 1 for the RN to BSN 22 month program
2. Fast Track: March 1-April 15 for the 14 month program

University Requirements:
Complete GE requirements for the BSN degree
Complete Major 34 upper division units
Complete ADN with a minimum of 33 semester units of nursing
coursework with a grade of C or better in each course.
Complete 7 units of 4 year University units
Validation of Equivalent Course Work
