									                    OLIVER BUTALID RESIGNS FROM PMDC


Oliver B. Butalid tendered his resignation as President and Chief Executive Officer of the
Philippine Mining Development Corporation (PMDC) to the Board of Directors during
its regular board meeting on June 25.

He thanked the Directors for their support to his programs in the past 40 months. Mr.
Butalid was cited for many important accomplishments. Among them was defining and
pursuing the roadmap for the development of the Diwalwal Mineral Reservation (DMR),
the empowerment of Indigenous Cultural Communities (ICC) and the expansion of
PMDC’s business portfolio by entering into 19 new Joint Operating Agreements from the
original 3 contracts of the corporation.

The Board commended Mr. Butalid for his leadership and tenacity amidst daunting
challenges. He transformed the organization to become more financially stable and
responsive to the needs of the mining communities and other stakeholders.

Atty Jaime De Veyra was designated Acting President effective June 30.
