                             Obituary.
It is with much sadness that we announce the sudden and
untimely death of our Chairman Paul Stanley. Paul was the public
face of the society. His intelligence and negotiating skills served
the society well for many years, our sympathies go out to his wife
Carol and extended family.

                       Autumn Newsletter.
Annual General Meeting S.E.E.F.A.S. 2011
The Society will hold it’s 62nd annual general meeting at the RNA
club in East Street on 30-11-2011 commencing promptly at 8pm,
agenda is attached.

Brain Crosby has kindly taken on the position of Vice Chairman
with our previous Vice Chairman Cliff Western becoming
Chairman following the death of Paul Stanley. Steve Lindsell has
been co-opted to the take the position of ordinary committee
member vacated by Brian Crosby. There will be one Committee
position vacant because Eddie Lawrence has completed his three
year tenure, however he is keen to stand for re-election and the
Committee support his decision. This position will be up for
election on the night, proposal slips attached should anybody want
to stand.
All proposals including matters for discussion at the AGM should
be with the Secretary by November 1st.

It will not have gone unnoticed that we have regularly requested
help with work parties.
These requests have largely gone unanswered, therefore, we have
been forced in to introducing a form of compulsory work parties.
We have decided to penalize non-participants by depriving them
of fishing rather than money.
It will work as follows:
Work Parties will be held throughout the winter on pre announced
dates (December, January, February)

All members that complete a work party during this period will
have their membership renewed in the usual way and they will be
able to fish from March 1st.

Those members who do not complete a work party during this
period will be given further opportunities during March and April,
once again dates will be pre announced.
When the work party has been completed their membership will
be processed asap, and when this is done they will be able to fish.

Those members that fail to complete a work party will be able to
fish from the 1st May with no further penalty.

All renewal forms must be completed in the normal way with the
March 1st deadline still applying.

OAP's, registered disabled, certificated sick are exempt
although any help will be much appreciated.

                        Wrongly Accused.
There appears to be a misconception amongst some members that
Loftmans main lake simply serves as a stock pond for Middlemead
NOT TRUE!
Some years ago the Committee set out a fishery management
policy for Loftmans to hopefully return it to its former glories.
This policy of fish removal, chalking, lily removal and tree control
has been extremely successful. A lake that struggled to produce
double figure carp now routinely produces carp in excess of 20
pounds. These fish will all remain in Loftmans.
No more rumour mongering please.

Some limited fish transfer does occur between our lakes. It is
strictly controlled and does not include large fish.

All of the newly constructed swims are now fully open, thank you
for your patience. We plan to repeat the process on a more
limited scale next year.

The toilets have proved to be a great success, however the
Committee feel that during the winter months the lack of use
means we do not need to cover the three sites. It has been
decided that only the Bird Sanctuary facility will remain during
the period 1st November to 31st March. This will save the
Society in the region of £1000.00 which is better spent
elsewhere.
Those anglers fishing Loftmans 1 & 2 that need to use the toilet
have permission to cut through Middlemead site, those fishing
Wallasea and the Puddle may walk across the high bank and
around the Sanctuary. Judging by previous winters this will
affect about 6 anglers.

The bulk of the work this winter is planned for Wallasea,
apologies in advance for any disruption. Work parties will always
take precedence during this period.
Work party dates as follows:
December Thursday 1st, Thursday 8th, Saturday 17th
January 2012 Thursday 5th, Thursday 12th, Thursday 19th,
Thursday 26th, Saturday 14th, Saturday 28th.
February Saturday 4th and Saturday 18th.
Please attend Wallasea by 9am any alteration will be posted on
the gate.
