Private Scholarships Opportunities
The scholarship opportunities listed in on the following pages have been
arranged by the month of their deadline. However, because organizations
move their deadlines from year to year it would be a good idea if you
doubled checked each scholarship you are interested in ahead of time. This,
of course, is not an exhaustive list of opportunities. You will want to also
search the web, the community, and individual colleges for scholarships. As
you find new ones, I would be grateful if you would share them with me so
that I can share them with future MCS students

Sites for State and Federal Scholarships
FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)
The FAFSA is a required form you must complete and submit before receiving any
financial assistance from a university or the state and federal government. It is the only
means of receiving the HOPE Scholarship. The FAFSA must be done the 2nd semester of
your child’s senior year of high school and each year in college. You will need to file
your yearly income tax before completing the FAFSA form. Because some funds run out,
it is best to file early (mid-March at the latest).
This site has many links to important information, FAFSA online application,
scholarship searches, and TSAC scholarship applications.
