The United Nations Mission In Sudan (UNMIS), and the United Nations African Mission In Darfur
(UNAMID) seeks expression of interest from fully accredited and licensed companies for the provision
and management of a duty free (PX) commissary for sale of items to UN civilian and military personnel
in Sudan.


Description of Requirement:

The locations of operations will be as follows:
{A}    UNMIS Headquarters in Khartoum, Juba, Wau, Malakal, Ed Damazin, El-Obeid, Abyei, and
       Kadugli.
{B}    UNAMID Headquarters in El Fasher, Zalingei, Nyala and El-Geneina - Darfur.

The contractor will be expected to establish and manage the commissary services in the afore-
mentioned locations with a catalogue order system for UNMIS, UNAMID and other UN family
personnel.

The range of items required will include but not limited to fresh, frozen and dry foodstuffs, dairy
products, fresh fruits and vegetables, a selection of consumer merchandise, household and utility
items, spirits, wines and other drinks, tobacco, perfumes and electronics.

Conditions:

Companies interested to be considered for short listing for receipt of the UNMIS Request for
Proposals are requested to submit a written Expression of Interest, along with the following
documents:

          Company’s full profile with all details (address, telephone and fax numbers, e-mail, etc).
          Company’s registration number (if already registered with UN), license(s).
          General organizational capability and resources.
          Proof of execution of similar services during last three to five years.
          Proof of financial strength.

The expression of interest may be submitted by email or facsimile clearly labelled or marked with the
inscription “Expression of Interest – Provision and Management of Duty Free (PX) Commissary
for UNMIS and UNAMID in Sudan” and address as follows to be received no later than Monday, 31
March 2008, 17:00hrs Sudan Local Time (GMT +3).

The contract period is envisaged to be for a period of two (2) years with an option to extend for a
further period of two (2) successive one (1) year extensions.

This EOI does not constitute a solicitation. UNMIS reserves the right to change or cancel the
requirements at any time during the EOI and/or subsequent solicitation process. Thus, submitting a
reply to this EOI does not automatically guarantee that a firm will be considered for receipt of the
solicitation when issued. Prospective companies that respond and are deemed qualified upon
completion of an evaluation of their submission will be invited to participate in the final Request for
Proposal (RFP), if and when issued.
