environment, energy supply markets and the technical ability to analyze utility billings and usage in an evolving and increasingly complex

 As the Energy Management Coordinator, your responsibilities include:

        Project management to oversee preparations for the City to enter in to energy purchase negotiations
        Develop and administer personnel and systems to monitor, verify, correct and report facility utility energy usage and billings
        Complete complex energy contract measurements, terms and conditions
        Provide cost and market forecasts, interpret government initiatives, identify and pursue rebates
        Develop purchase options and make recommendations to management
        Lead or support corporate programs for the identification, analysis, development, implementation and verification of energy
         improvement projects
        Monitor the external environment for energy and utility-related developments that affect the City, its administration and operations,
         provide recommendations to senior managers
        Provide energy and utility expertise and information to committees, corporate staff and facility managers
        Supervise the Energy Management Section staff and coordinate external service providers

Qualifications:

        University degree in engineering or technical field supplemented by training in accounting, business, law or commerce
        Certified Energy Manager (C.E.M.) designation is desirable
        A minimum of 5 years technical experience in areas related to buildings, physical plant engineering, project management or facility
         operations with significant direct involvement in energy supply and billing
        Effective supervisory and team skills appropriate to managing complex work in a sometimes stressful environment
        Sound oral and written communication skills
        Ability to rapidly assess emergent items and adjust Section priorities as needed
        Sound understanding of the utility rate-making market, metering and measurement systems and data and ability to apply information to
         best represent the City's interests
        Ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with staff and external stakeholders
         An original Police Information Check or Certified Criminal Record Check issued within the past 6 months that is satisfactory to the
         employer will be required before starting in the position. The new hire will be required to obtain this check from Edmonton Police
         Services or a local RCMP detachment. Please note, this may take up to 3 weeks to process
        Applicants will be required to arrange their own transportation and where appropriate will be reimbursed in accordance with the City of
         Edmonton policy. This may require the applicant to obtain business use auto insurance




Hours of Work: 36.9 hours per week; Hours of work may be subject to the terms and conditions of variable hours of work program.

Salary Range: 91M, Salary Grade: PT2, $65,615.00 - $93,734.00 (Annually).
