                                            Director of Operations

PRINCIPAL FUNCTION: The Director of Operations directs all administrative functions to ensure sound
financial practices, legal compliance and operational efficiency.

REPORTS TO: The Executive Director

SUPERVISES: Administrative Assistant(s), Facilities Maintenance

   Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred, in a related field, or related experience equivalent.
   Previous experience in leadership and administration with direct experience in supervising paid staff
   Previous financial and human resources experience
   Exhibit strong skills in communication, leadership, organization and administration.
   Exhibit a passion for stewardship, efficiency and effectiveness
   Have proven ability to design and implement efficient systems/processes
   Exhibit strong computer skills, including experience with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office, with the ability
    to learn new software programs as needed
   Be able to carry out responsibilities with minimal supervision

Job Duties:

Financial Management: oversee all financial tracking and planning activities, including:
    Lead annual budgeting process, with finance committee and Executive Director
    Work with finance committee and Executive Director on long-term financial planning
    Oversee financial relationships (banking, ACH/credit card processing)
    Oversee expenditures for budgeted expenses of the center and oversee purchasing requests
    Ensure that accurate and current records of income and expenses are kept in Quickbooks
    Pay bills and coordinate second signature when necessary
    Reconcile checking/savings accounts
    Reconcile and maintain petty cash fund
    Prepare monthly financial statements for Executive Director and Board
    Work with Development staff to ensure consistency between donor database and financial records
    Work with Development staff on accounting for special fundraising initiatives, including recording and
        reconciling pledge receivable.
    Help with preparation for audit, if performed
    Establish and maintain sound bookkeeping practices
    Maintain the financial integrity of Bridgehaven
Human Resources: manage and oversee the human resource function for Bridgehaven, including:
   Prepare biweekly payroll and manage payroll liabilities (e.g. FSA’s, insurance, etc.)
   Make federal and state payroll deposits
   Prepare and file quarterly and annual payroll reports
   Administer benefits program
   Administer new employee orientation
   Identify and communicate appropriate professional training and development opportunities
   Ensure regulatory and legal compliance

Ministry Administration: maintain effective and efficient operations through overseeing:
    Business insurance: procurement, monitoring and management
    Organizational reporting and monitoring: provide guidance and leadership through Bridgehaven
        programming metrics and measurement reporting process
    Ensure that all center policies are carried out, as well as coordinate with the policies and procedures
        committee regarding policies to be adapted or created and implemented, along with Executive Director,
    Risk management and legal activities (contracts, leases, legal agreements)

Project Management
    Work with staff to identify opportunities for improved efficiency and effectiveness and develop plans to
        address them
