Section 4: Binding requirements
A. Hard bound: Hard bound binding is thread sewn and bound within substantial boards. They are lettered in gold
reading down the spine with your name, your award and your year of graduation. This binding meets the regulations for
archival copies laid down by British Standards.

C. Channel Binding: In this binding the pages are inserted into to a metal ‘channel’ which is then closed to secure the
pages. A channel bound document can also be customised with the University of Birmingham crest and word Marque.
