Destructive & Non - destructive, tests on
II various components of work

1 Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity Test: Ultrasonic Each
Pulse Velocity Test is being extensively used
to assess the quality of concrete in general.
This test is generally used to check
     uniformity of concrete, determination of
     cracks in the interior concrete,
     honeycombing, assessment of concrete
     deterioration and strength estimation.
Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity Test will be
     conducted on randomly selected accessible
portion of RCC Columns (15nos) of the
godown. Direct method of scanning will be
adopted at site. The test will be conducted
     using ‘PUNDIT’ (Portable Ultrasonic Non-
     destructive Digital Indicating Tester)
     equipment from M/s.CNS Electronics,U.K or
‘PUNDIT LAB’ equipment from M/s Proceq,
     Switzerland.

2 Profometer Studies: To Map the position of Each
reinforcing bars and to measure the cover
     thickness in identified accessible RCC
columns members, profometer studies will be
carried out using profometer from M/s.
Proceq, Switzerland. Profometer test will be
     conducted on randomly selected accessible
portion of RCC columns (15 Nos).
(Limitations of equipment: The bar can be
detected for a maximum cover thickness of 60
     to 70mm)

3 Rebound Hammer Test: Rebound Hammer Each
Test is a quick and approximate method for
assessing the quality of cover concrete based
on surface hardness indicated by the rebound
number. If the strength of cover concrete is
high, then the rebound number is also high.
Profometer test will be conducted on
randomly selected accessible portion of RCC
     columns (15 nos).

4 Core Test: Extraction of Concrete cores from Each
the flooring of the godowns (3 nos from
each compartment i.e, 9 nos. from
godown) and Minimum 3 cores from CC
road of width 3.5m and a length 150m or
less. And one core will be extracted for
every 50m additional length) will be
carried out using Diamond Core cutting
equipment, to check the quality/strength of
     in-situ concrete in them. Appropriate
diameter of core barrel will be used to extract
the concrete cores. The extracted concrete
core will be trimmed, capped and tested for
their compressive strength as per standard
     practice.
5 Soil Test: Extraction of soil cores after Each
removing concrete flooring (for 200 mm
diameter) at identified location of the
godowns (3nos from each godown), cores
will be tested for FDT. And loose soil sample
will be colleted from each site and will be
tested for OMC and MDD at our laboratory.
This test can be conducted for the topmost
    layer of the filling only.

6 Testing of GALVALUME: 1.0m 1.0m Each
Galvalume will be collected from each site
and tested for Yield strength, coating
thickness and Chemical composition (% of
    Aluminium, Zinc and Silicon) and
    corrugation will be measured.

                                                         Sd/-
                                               Superintending Engineer (AM)
