1.2 Understand sentence construction (e.g., parallel structure, subordination, proper placement of
modifiers) and proper English usage (e.g., consistency of verb tenses).

Lesson/Performance Objectives:
Upon completion of this lesson, student will prepare a correctly formatted and written report using the
Modern Language Association (MLA) design for report writing.

Assessment:
Two MLA reports with the correct spacing and formatting that are error-free, printed and stapled with an
appropriate Works Cited page.

Why write a report in the MLA format? How will you use this knowledge in the future?
