Title            Special Actions of Cultural Cooperation with and in Third Countries

Reference
                 The aim of this call is to support bi-annual (2007-2009) cultural cooperation
Objective &      projects focusing on two countries: China and India.
Actions
Eligibility      Eligible applicants must be public or private cultural organisations whose main
                 activity lies in the cultural sphere. They must be able to demonstrate at least 2
                 years experience in managing cultural projects at an international level, in
                 particular in India and China.
               Bi-annual cooperation projects must involved at least 3 partners from 3 different
               eligible countries. 1 Associate partners must also come from either India or China
               The total budget for this call is €1.8 million

Title         Support for Bodies Active at European Level in the Field of Culture
              Official Journal of the EU C184, 7 August 2007
Reference
              This call will award operating grants to bodies pursuing an aim of European
Objective &   interest in the field of culture. Funds will go towards co-financing expenditure
Actions       associated with the permanent work programme of these bodies. Support shall be
              in the form of framework partnership agreements or annual operating grant
              agreements.

Eligibility   Eligible applicants must be public or private independent cultural organisations.
              They must be non profit making bodies which have been in existence for at least
              2 years.

Budget        The budget for this call is €5 million

Title         Support for Cultural Actions: Multi-Annual Cooperation Projects
              (strand 1.1), Cooperation Measures (Strand 1.2.1)

Objective &   The aim of this call is to award grants to projects carrying out two types of action
Actions       in any artistic or cultural field:
                   Multi-annual cooperation projects (strand 1.1)
                      These projects such include a number of multi-annual cultural activities
                      which aim to achieve a structured and sustainable cooperation
                   Cooperation measures (strand 1.2.1)
                      These projects should be cultural actions of a smaller and shorter scale,
                      exploring the possibilities for longer term cooperation among cultural
                      operators.

Eligibility         Multi-annual cooperation projects – projects must involve at least six
                     cultural operators from six different participating countries
                    Cooperation measures – projects must involve at least three cultural
                     operators from three different participating countries

Budget        The total budget for the call is €17.5 million for multi-annual cooperation projects
              and €10 million for cooperation measures. Community financing cannot exceed
              50% of the total project budget.

Deadline      The deadline for submitting project proposals is 31 October, 2007

Title         Networking of Organisations Carrying Out Evaluation or Impact
              Assessment Activities in the Field of Cultural Policies – Networks
              (strand 3.2)

Objective &   This call aims to support the networking of a variety of different stakeholders
Actions       (cultural departments of national, regional or local authorities, cultural
              observatories, universities specialised in cultural affairs etc) which have a direct
              and practical experience in evaluation or impact assessment in the cultural policy
              field on the following two topics
                    Topic 1: cultural policies in local/regional socio-economic development
                      and attractiveness
                    Topic 2: synergies/bridges between education and cultural with strong
                      focus on creativity and innovation

              Each network must involve at least three organisations from three different
Eligibility   participating countries.

              The total budget for the call is €0.6 million. Community financing cannot exceed
Budget        €200,000 or 50% of the total eligible costs

Deadline      The deadline for submitting project proposals is 1 October 2007.

Title         Support for Cultural Actions: Literary Translation (strand 1.2.2)

Objective &   This call will support literary translation projects
Actions
                     Applicants must be a public or private publishing house or publishing
Eligibility           group.
                     Eligible works are works of fiction irrespective of their literary genre
                     Eligible authors are authors who are nationals or residents of a
                      participating country
                     Eligible languages are the official languages of the participating countries
                      and ancient languages

Budget        The total budget allocated to the call is €1,7 million

Deadline      There are two selection rounds:
                  First selection deadline: 1 October 2007
                  Second selection deadline: 1 April 2008

Title         Organisation and Implementation of a Biennial European Union Prize
              for Contemporary Architecture

Objective &   The purpose of this call is to select a body which will be able to organise,
Actions       implement and award a biennial European Union Prize scheme for Contemporary
              Architecture. The prize aims to recognise promote and develop artistic talent as
              well as excellent practice in the field of European contemporary architecture.

Eligibility   Eligible applicants must be public or private organisations whose activity lies in
              the field of contemporary architecture and with long and proven experience of
              organising activities in the sector.

Budget        The budget for this action is €200,000. This must not exceed 60% of the total

Deadline      The deadline for submitting applications is 9 November 2007.

            Eligibility   For Collaborative Projects, the minimum condition shall be the participation of 3
                          legal entities, each of which is established in a Member State or Associated
                          Country and no two of which are established in the same Member State or
                          Associated Country. For Coordination and Supporting Actions aiming at
                          supporting research activities and policies the minimum condition shall be the
                          participation of one legal entity. For Coordination and Supporting Actions aiming
                          at coordinating research activities and policies the minimum condition shall be the
                          participation of three legal entities, each of which is established in a Member
                          State or Associated Country, and no two of which are established in the same
                          Member State or Associated Country.

            Budget        The indicative call budget is foreseen to be 40 M€: ICT theme - 20 M€), Security
                          theme – 20 M€

             2)                Eco - Cooling. Energy Efficiency in Short and Medium Distance
                               Maritime Refrigerated Transport
             Proposal          This project aims to:

                                 Foster energy efficiency and rational use of energy resources in
                                  maritime transport
                                 Promote new and renewable energy sources and support energy
                                  diversification in maritime transport
                                 Transfer, apply and promote widely well-proven best practices,
                                  strategies and technologies

                                The project will look to:
                                 Create technical documents which review the current use of energy
                                  resources and summarise successful energy efficient techniques in the
                                  Maritime Refrigerated Transport Sector
                                 Publish an economic report that measures the benefits of using new
                                  technologies that result in fuel savings
                                 Create a database that lists all the ships that will be embracing the
                                  above mentioned new technology
                                 Increase the number of activities to reduce in the short-term both fuel
                                  oil consumption by promoting alternative renewable solutions (i.e. use
                                  of the engine’s thermal energy)
                                 Dissemination of best practice between all the market players (by
                                  building websites and setting up workshops and seminars)
