Nikon Sport Optics has introduced a variable powered handgun scope having a power range

sure to be popular with hunters, varmint shooters, and metallic silhouette competitors.

The new Nikon Monarch® UCC® 2.5-8x28 handgun scope was designed to complement

today’s powerful handguns in use with a wide variety of shooters and hunters. The result is a

rugged scope that gives users the optimum blend of brightness, power, clarity and durability.

Like all Nikon Monarch UCC riflescopes, the 2.5-8x28 handgun scope incorporates precision

ground and polished lenses coated with Nikon’s exclusive Ultra ClearCoat®, a proprietary

lens coating yielding 95% light transmission. It is built on a durable, 1” one-piece main body

tube made of aircraft grade aluminum. It is nitrogen filled and O-ring sealed for true

waterproof, shockproof and fogproof performance. The new scope is available with a

Nikoplex reticle, allowing for fast, precise target acquisition. Eye relief is a forgiving 12-30

inches at 2.5x and 9-13 inches at 8x to accommodate hard kicking handguns. Focus is easy to

achieve and maintain thanks to the addition of Nikon’s new quick focus eyepiece.

A feature unique to the Nikon Monarch 2.5-8x28 is a new set of low profile, hand turn

windage and elevation adjustment knobs. The large diameter dial allows the user to feel, hear

and see each precise 1/4 MOA clickstop. The dials are ridged, making them easy to operate

with gloves, and each adjustment is numbered, allowing quick adjustments and easy and

accurate return to zero while afield or in competition.

The new Monarch is available with either a silver or black matte exterior finish and is

equipped with lens caps. It will be available in Spring of 2002 at gun and sporting goods

stores nationwide and will carry a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $444.95 for the

silver version and $424.95 for black matte finish. Like all Nikon riflescopes, the 2.5-8x28

handgun scope carries Nikon’s exclusive Lifetime Full Warranty.
