                                    NON-EXEMPT STAFF POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
                                 SUMMER CONFERENCES DESK ATTENDANT

Reporting to the Conferences Manager, the Desk Attendant (DA) serves as a member of a team to create a professional experience
conducive to the success of each conference. Each DA is responsible for implementing the mission of the department by creating a
positive customer service experience for campus visitors while communicating and upholding Summer Conference policies and
standards. Each DA is expected to be a positive, contributing member of the Summer Conference staff, the Summer Programs Office,
and the CC campus community.

   Upholds and enforces all Colorado College and Summer Conferences policies, and explains policies and/or policy changes; serves
    as a role-model in following all department policies and procedures, including those outlined in the DA manual.
   Attends all training sessions and staff meetings, performs all duties as assigned for scheduled shifts. Works closely with
    Conferences supervisor to communicate scheduling needs in advance, to ensure continuity of coverage.
   Performs check-ins and check-outs, distributes keys and meal cards, keeps accurate guest count, and assists conference guests;
    serves on-call as needed to respond to late arrivals.
   Learns and uses Conference Software; learns how each front desk works (Loomis, Mathias, Slocum).
   Designs lobby bulletin boards with guest information using materials provided.
   Assists the interns and Conference Manager in the Conference Office; answers phones/questions, and receives and distributes
    messages and mail.
   Assists Residential Life department for one week as desk attendant at end of summer.
   Assists in preparing apartments and residential hall rooms to ensure that they have been properly set up and cleaned (i.e. put in
    fans, phones, TVs, alarm clocks, etc. and remove them at end of summer); assists in delivery of linen supplies as needed.
   Performs other duties as requested by management.

   Colorado College student enrolled in classes for the 2012-2013 academic year preferred, but not required.
   Must be available to work a minimum of 32 hours each week, to include weekend and on-call responsibilities as needed.
   Must have general working knowledge of Colorado College and the Colorado Springs area.
   Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
   Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and attention to detail.
   Ability to learn and use new software quickly.
   Ability to work in many diverse work environments, learns quickly, and takes initiative as appropriate.
   Good physical condition; frequently lifting and moving objects, stooping, kneeling and crouching; occasional climbing of ladders
    and carrying of loads up and down stairs.
   Ability to operate standard office equipment such as personal computer, laser printer, copier, fax and credit card machine.
   Must be committed to the mission of a liberal arts college, support and contribute to the goal of achieving greater diversity at
    Colorado College and be able to work effectively with the many constituencies in a college environment.

This is a temporary position beginning May 17, 2012, and ending August 15, 2012. During this period it is expected that each DA
will work a schedule of approximately 425 hours at the Colorado minimum wage and will submit timesheets for all hours worked. A
taxable housing allowance of $300/month and a taxable meal allowance of $160/month will be provided. Discounted on-campus
