TURKEY SHOOT 6
OBJECTIVE: Students will work on target throwing and agility.

EQUIPMENT: 18 orange jerseys, 18 green, purple and silver dodge balls, 6 turkey blinds, orange
cones, 6 different colored scooters and 6 yellow jerseys, all of our colored hoop holders.
PROCEDURES: Randomly spread the turkey blinds around the gym. The boundaries are the black
line that runs between the orange and purple color lines, down the length of the gym and the black line
that runs in front of the stage. Assign 3 students to each turkey blind and have them put on the orange
jersey. The hunter can only throw 2 balls and they must be thrown through the blind windows. When
one set of color lines has been called and the hunters have thrown their 2 balls the coach will have all
hunters carefully leave their blind and go pick up 2 balls and keep them in their hands. The game is
played a lot like Octopus. Everybody starts on one end of the gym. When the coach calls a color line
they attempt to run (like a turkey with wings flapping) to the opposite end of the gym without getting hit
by a ball. The ball can bounce or hit them in the air. If a ball hits you you go sit at the front wall. After
all color lines have gone the hunters will give their orange jerseys to the students sitting quietly. . K-2
uses 3 hunters and 3-5 uses 2 hunters
1. Use poly spots to make a road angled from the closet towards the coach’s office. Divide the
road down the middle with colored hoop holders. One person from each color line gets on their
scooter and drives it up and down the road as a diversion. The drivers can also tag the turkeys
2. Game Warden- one person from each color line has on a yellow jersey if they can get to the
other end of the gym with out getting hit by a ball or car they can rescue 1 person from the pen.
If they get hit they go to the pen.
