					                                         Northlake Children’s Chorus
                                                Music Day Camp
                                               June 25th –June 28th
                                              Rising 1st-6th graders

Is your child interested in learning how to
play the guitar and drums?

Music Day Camp will introduce children to the
wonderful world of musical instruments. Children will drum rhythm
patterns with African drums and use drum sticks for playing; rising 3 rd-6th
graders will learn basic guitar chords and be able to play simple songs; all
ages will learn basic chord structure and how to read music by playing
handchimes, handbells and recorders; the children will become
musicians themselves while improvising on orff instruments where they
never play a wrong notes. The week will also feature a Talent Show
where children can share their musical gifts through instruments, song
and drama.

Elementary Music Week, June 25th -28th
Monday.-Thursday, 9:00am-1:00pm
Rising 1st-6th graders will enjoy a week full of singing, acting and learning
how to play musical instruments. All groups will have drama, creative
movement and singing opportunities.

Rising 1st -2nd graders will have classes in drumming, orff instruments,
handchimes, and autoharps.

Rising 3rd-6th graders will have classes in drumming, guitar, handbells,
recorders and orff instruments.
Fee: $100
Spaces are VERY limited. First come basis.

                   Briarcliff United Methodist Church,
                4105 Briarcliff Road, Atlanta, Georgia 30345

Briarcliff UMC has beautiful church facility with a large music room.
African drums, autoharps, orff instruments, handbells and assorted
percussion instruments will be used. An outside playground is nearby.
There is an indoor gym for play on rainy days and room for crafts and art
projects. The week will feature playing a variety of instruments, musical
games, singing, drama, crafts and snacks. Parents may drop off and pick-up
at the gym on the side of the church opposite the playground. Campers
should bring a lunch and drink each day.

Leader for Summer Camps: Beverly Blissit is the director of the Northlake
Children’s Chorus which has over 100 singers in the Northlake Community.
The Chorus has recently started a Music Academy with 3 piano teachers.
Beverly is also the Children's Choir Coordinator at Roswell United
Methodist Church where she directs and supervises an age-graded choir,
drama and instrumental ministry with over 200 children. With over 30 years
experience directing children’s choirs, she is certified in Orff and
Kindermusik instruction. She conducts Musical Beginnings Classes in the
Northlake neighborhood. Beverly has a Master of Divinity degree. Other
helpers include youth and college students who are Safe Sanctuary trained
and have experience working with Beverly and her camps.
