         ShortTender Notice
 Sealed Tenders are invited from the OEM/authorized
 dealers for supply and installation of FESEM and
 AFM at the CMEF Building, NBU. Details may be
 obtained from the NBU Portal www.nbu.ac.in. The
 Tender papers are available from the Office of the
 Finance Officer against payment of Rs 5000/= each.
 The last date of submission of Tender is 29.03.2012
 up to 3:00 P.M. and to be opened on the same day at
 4:00 P.M.
 Tender paper(s) may also be downloaded from NBU
 portal. If Tender paper is downloaded, a demand
 draft of Rs 5000/= in favour of University of North
 Bengal payable at SBI, NBU Campus Branch shall
 have to be enclosed with the Tender paper.

(1) Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope along with Energy Dispersive
Spectroscope (FESEM/EDS)         :

Resolution                1.0 nm or better.

Operation                 High and variable pressure modes.

Accelerating Voltage      200V to 30kV.

Probe Current Range       At least 20 pA or higher.

Magnification             Minimum 25x to 10, 00,000x or better.

Electron Source           Schottky field emitter or thermoionic emitter.

Vacuum System             Should give ultra clean high vacuum using Turbo Molecular Pump. Safety
                          measures for electron column against any vacuum failure. Variable pressure
                          range for chamber must be at least 270 Pa in low vacuum mode.
Stage Specification       5 axis motorized stage with movement facility for X = 80mm or higher mm, Y
                          =80 mm or higher, Z = 40 mm or higher, Tilt = 10 to 70°, Rotation = 360°,
                          Manual Joystick to adjust stage movement should also be included
                          Large size chamber with atleast 7 accessory ports; Should be able to
                          accommodate samples of size up to 150 mm dia or more, Height: 75 mm or
                          better, facility to accommodate multiple specimens.
Detectors                     1. Secondary Electron Detector for use in high vacuum mode.
                              2. Solid state Back Scattered Electron Detector in all modes for
                                 use in high and low vacuum mode.
EDS System                129 eV resolution Peltier Cooled (LN2 free) EDS, should be able to provide
                          all commonly used tools such as Quantitative, Qualitative, Elemental
                          mapping, Line scan capabilities. Standard calibration samples should also
                          be provided. Should be able to analyze Boron to Uranium elements.
Automation and Computer   Fully automated operation through latest and state-of-the art system
Control                   software providing various        image processing and measurement
                          features, including
                          • Auto gun control and gun alignment, auto bias and auto saturation of gun
                               condition
                          • Automatic / manual control of other features like focus, brightness and
                          contrast, etc.

Electron optics           Beam deceleration / gentle beam / beam booster technology or equivalent for
                          high resolution imaging at low KV, magnetic / electrostatic objective lens
                          assembly, etc, for high resolution imaging of magnetic materials.

(1) Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope along with Energy Dispersive Spectroscope
(FESEM/EDS) :
                             High-end Computer system with state-of-the-art hardware including color
                             laser printer. Two computers may be quoted for SEM and EDS systems
Computer System              separately. Preferably the EDS system should also be embedded in the SEM
                             computer.
Accessories                  Mention all the commonly used accessories with individual prices such as
                             high quality camera, gold, platinum and carbon sputterer / coater. Interface
                             between SEM and EDS, Dessicator for reducing water content of vent air.
UPS                          Higher capacity online UPS with at least 60 minutes backup time as needed to
                             support the complete system inclusive SEM, EDS or any other accessories.
Spares                       For an anticipated period of three years, O rings for the Vacuum system, Rotary
                             Oil, electron source, etc. Any other spares needed should also be quoted.

Installation                 The equipment should be installed by certified engineer of the firm.

Warranty                     Three years comprehensive onsite warranty from the date of installation.

Operator                     The supplier will have to provide a highly skilled full-time operator for the
                             SEM/EDS system for at least six months from the date of installation of the
                             system in the institute at ITS OWN COST. The operator shall work as an
                             employee of the supplier, and the Institute shall bear no responsibility for
                             his/her service liabilities.

Training                     The vendor shall provide preliminary training to 2-3 technicians / Faculty
                             members of the University with regard to operation and maintenance of the
                             equipments along with continuous on-line help.

Maintenance                  Annual Maintenance Contract (with spares) for two years after expiry of
                             Warranty period.

Heating        and Cooling   Heating and cooling stages with temperature range should be

                                    Terms and Conditions
1. The equipments shall be supplied and installed at CMEF Building, North Bengal University,
   Raja Rammohunpur, P.O.: NBU, PIN-734013.

2. Price shall be quoted both in INR and Foreign Currency.

3. The prices quoted should be inclusive of all taxes and CIF, North Bengal University, Raja
   Rammohunpur, P.O.: NBU, PIN-734013.

4. The supplier must submit technical brochures and proper application notes adequately explaining
   and confirming the availability of the features of the equipment quoted.

5. The supplier must submit the data in tabular form indicating the compliance of the features of the
   model of the equipment being quoted with those given in the tender.

6. Features not matching must be clearly indicated.

7. The supplier must submit a comprehensive list of users of the equipment being quoted or similar
   equipments in India during the last 5 (five) years.

8. The supplier must have sold about a good number of similar equipments in India.

9. Copy of valid PT, Trade License, PAN shall be enclosed along with the tender. The VAT
   number along with the date till it is valid shall also be mentioned.

10. The vendor shall provide 3 (three) years comprehensive on-site warranty.

11. Authorization certificate from the OEM of products shall be enclosed.

12. The tenderer shall mention any number of optional accessories in their quotes, however the same
    should be clearly distinguished from the main requirements along with their individual prices.

13.    Along with the tender, Rs. 1,00,000/= (Rupees One Lakh only) shall be deposited as earnest
       money for each of the machine either through bankers cheque or D.D. in favour of
       “University of North Bengal, payable at SBI, NBU Campus Branch” failing which the tender
       paper will be treated as cancelled. The earnest money of the unsuccessful quotationer (s) will
       be refunded after 1 (one) month of the opening of tender paper and the same of the successful
       candidate will be refunded after 6 (six) months of the satisfactory delivery of the item(s)
       without interest subject to redress of complains if any.


14.    If Tender Form is downloaded from NBU portal, a demand draft of Rs 5,000/- (Rupees Five
       Thousand only) in favour of “University of North Bengal” payable at SBI, NBU Campus
       Branch, shall be enclosed towards the cost of tender form failing which tender paper will be
       treated as cancelled.
15.    The quoted price shall be valid up to 30.06.2012.

16. The last date of submission of tender is 29.03.2012 up to 3:00 P.M. and to be opened on the
same day at 4:00 P.M. The Tenderers may remain present on the day of opening of tender.
