    Powerful and compact network-colour laser printer is the first to

January 10, 2005 – Nieuwegein, NL – Konica Minolta Printing Solutions Europe is expanding the colour

laser printer program with the magicolor 2430DL. This new model in the magicolor 2400 colour printer

series comes equipped with PictBridge enabling it to print colour pictures directly from a digital camera.

Konica Minolta is the first printer manufacturer in the world to introduce PictBridge on the market for

professional colour laser printers. The magicolor 2430DL is compact and combines a low recommended

retail price (€ 499 excl. VAT) with a superb printing quality and a printing speed of 5 pages per minute in

colour and 20 pages per minute in monochrome.

PictBridge

PictBridge compliant digital cameras can be directly connected to the magicolor 2430DL. Displayed

pictures in the camera can then be printed in colour without having to use a PC. PictBridge also supports

a number of elementary functions such as the rotation of pictures and printing an index with thumbnails.



Professional

The magicolor 2430DL is ideal for both small working groups and professional personal users. The

professional character of this new printer is underscored by the elaborate configuration options, such as

an extra lower paper feeder holding 500 sheets (as a supplement to the standard paper feeder holding

200 sheets) and an automatic duplexer unit.



The magicolor 2430DL can be adapted to a wide range of situations and demands. The printer settings

can be selected through the built-in display and also via the network with the web-based Administrator

tool “PageScope WEB Connection”. The magicolor 2430DL can also print on a wide spectrum of print

media (up to 163 g/m2), transparencies, labels and envelopes.



Small work space

All the actions performed by the user, such as refilling the paper, replacing toner cartridges or drum

cartridge and fixing a paper jam, can be accessed from the front of the printer. Even if the printer has to

be maintained, the necessary work space is kept to the absolute minimum.

Technology

The magicolor 2430DL is equipped with PageScope Raster Language a newly designed and advanced

printing language which enables the magicolor 2430DL to support Macintosh (OS 10.2), Linux as well as

Windows (98SE, ME, 2000 and XP). The printer uses a newly designed multi-pass colour laser printing

engine developed by Konica Minolta. This new engine uses two laser beams instead of one in order to

achieve faster printing speed. Moreover, this new printing engine adopts a wider angle laser beam

scanning mirror, which minimizes the distance between the print head and the paper. This new laser optic

technology contributes to the exceptionally compact print engine of the magicolor 2430DL.



Other advantages of the magicolor 2430DL include short warm-up time (49 seconds) and advanced

polymer technology. Because of the short warm-up time, the first page printing is also very fast (12

seconds). Konica Minolta’s polymer technology creates miniscule and uniform toner particles. This

polymer toner, together with eAIDC (enhanced automatic image density control) technology enable

pinpoint sharp lines in 2400 x 600 dpi and smooth consistent gradations. The standard internal memory of

32 MB can be expanded to a maximum of 544 MB.



Availability

The magicolor 2430DL is supplied ready for use: the drum cartridge and toner cartridges (black, cyan,

magenta and yellow) are pre-installed. The printer has a one year on-site warranty. The magicolor 2430DL

will be on the market from mid January 2005.
