Santorum and His View on
Government
On 1/5/12 Judge Napolitano of Fox Business Network’s
Freedom Watch aired a video on his television program
which revealed Rick Santorum making the following
statement: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Gwwmm-cQxU
“One of the criticisms I make is to what I refer to as
more of a Libertarianish right. They have this idea
that people should be left alone, be able to do
whatever they want to do, government should keep
our taxes down and keep our regulations low, that we
shouldn’t get involved in the bedroom, we shouldn’t
get involved in cultural issues. That is not how
traditional conservatives view the world. There is no
such society that I am aware of, where we’ve had
radical individualism and that it succeeds as a
  culture.”

Loss of US Sovereignty –
GATT, WTO
In 1994, supported HR 5110 for the creation of the
World Trade Organization (WTO) which handed
over the power to regulate foreign commerce to an
internationally controlled body, making America’s
economic interests entirely at the mercy of the
WTO. http://www.votesmart.org/bill/votes/8287

This bill approves the replacement of the General
Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) with the
World Trade Organization (WTO) beginning January
1, 1995.
Gingrich Comments about
Loss of US Sovereignty with
GATT and WTO
Rep. Gingrich knew GATT and WTO sounded the death
knell for American sovereignty. In testimony before the
House Ways and Means Committee prior to the lame-
duck session, he said, “We need to be honest about
the fact that we are transferring from the United
States at a practical level significant authority to
a new organization.... This is not just another
trade agreement. This is adopting something
which twice, once in the 1940s and once in the
1950s, the U.S. Congress rejected.... It is a very
big transfer of power.” Santorum still voted in
support of this bill which undermines US Sovereignty.
Santorum and
Government Spending
Voted against Wall Street Bailout - TARP

On spending, Santorum has a mixed record and
showed clear signs of varying his votes based on the
election calendar (namely on election years).
There is a troubling part of Santorum’s record on
spending, which is found in the years sandwiched
between some periods of fiscal restraint.
His record is plagued by the big spending habits that
Republicans adopted during the Bush years of 2001-
2006.
Santorum and
Government Spending

In 2006, voted for H J Res 47 that increases the
public debt limit to $8.97 trillion.

In the 2003-2004 session of Congress, Santorum
sponsored or cosponsored 51 bills to increase
spending and failed to sponsor or co-sponsor one
spending cut proposal.

indefinitely anyone—US or foreign nationals, from
within the US, and from abroad.

Gives US officials immunity from prosecution for
torturing detainees that were captured before the
end of 2005 by US military and CIA.
Santorum and
Liberal Alliances

Santorum came to the defense of anti-gun rights
and pro-choice Sen. Arlen Specter’s defense in
2004 when he was down in the polls against pro-
gun rights and pro-life Republican Pat Toomey.
Santorum – In Summary

In the debates, he rarely mentions the Constitution
as his source of authority or decision making and has
yet to say that he will honor his oath of office. He
did not honor it while serving in the House of
Representatives or the Senate so there is little
chance he will honor it as President.
He has not remained consistent on his view of the
legitimate role of government so it is hard to
determine where he stands with the Founding
principles of limited government and liberty. What
seems to be consistent, however, is his leanings
toward big government.

Romneycare and Obamacare
Connections
Records, gleaned from White House visitor logs
reviewed by NBC News, show that senior White House
officials had a dozen meetings in 2009 with three
health care advisers and experts who helped shape the
health care reform law signed by Romney in 2006.

One of those meetings, on July 20, 2009, was in the
Oval Office and presided over by President Barack
Obama, the records show.
http://thenewamerican.com/usnews/health-care/9383-investigation-
confirms-romneycare-was-the-blueprint-for-obamacare

The investigations confirm that RomneyCare served as
the prototype and model for ObamaCare.
Romneycare and Obamacare
Connections
“The White House wanted to lean a lot on what
we’d done in Massachusetts,” said Jon Gruber, an
MIT economist who advised the Romney administration
on health care and who attended five meetings at the
Obama White House in 2009, including the meeting
with the President. “They really wanted to know
how we can take that same approach we used in
Massachusetts and turn that into a national
model.”
Gruber was identified in 2007 as “the Democratic
Party’s most influential health care expert” by the
Washington Post, and Gruber has generally worked
with Democrats, including all three of the leading
presidential candidates in 2008.
Romneycare and Obamacare
Connections
The DNC’s favorite health economist, Jon Gruber, also
says that Romney is the “father of healthcare reform:

”I think he is the single person most
responsible for health care reform in the
United States. … I’m not trying to make a
political position or a political statement. I
honestly feel that way. If Mitt Romney had not
stood up for this reform in Massachusetts … I
don’t think it would have happened nationally.
So I think he really is the guy with whom it all
  starts.”
Romneycare Mandate

As Massachusetts governor, Romney worked with a
Democrat-led state house to pass the first state-
mandated healthcare bill that required nearly all
state residents to buy insurance or face penalties.
Massachusetts' healthcare law became a model for
Obama's nationwide healthcare program, enacted
into law in 2010.
An April 2011 Blue Cross/Blue Shield Foundation
Report on Massachusetts healthcare reform says
that Massachusetts has the highest healthcare
costs in the nation, and those costs are expected
to nearly double by 2020.
Romneycare Mandate

According to the state’s 2010 annual report, today
“per capita spending on health care in Massachusetts
is 15 percent higher than the rest of the nation, even
when accounting for wages and spending on medical
research and education in Massachusetts.
Professor John F. Cogan of Stanford University has
concluded the 2006 reform led to premium growth 6
percent higher in Massachusetts than in the rest of
the United States between 2006 and 2008.

Romneycare Mandate
It’s now apparent Romney did not give Massachusetts
universal private health coverage. Instead, he put the
state on a glide-path to a single-payer, government
monopoly health system—the same path Obamacare now
follows at the national level, according to John R.
Graham, the director of health care studies at the Pacific
Research Institutehttp://news.heartland.org/newspaper-
article/romneycare-failure-public-disappointment-bode-ill-obamacare
RomneyCare increased taxes on employers and workers
who don’t purchase insurance. In 2011, the fine for the
individual mandate is as much as $1,212 per year, which
is added directly onto the income taxes of non-compliant
state residents. This fine will eventually rise to more than
$3,500 per year as the law continues to be phased in.
Romneycare Mandate

Romney’s June 2011 statement about taxes
contradicts what the former Massachusetts Governor
admitted in a March 7, 2010 interview on Fox News
Sunday. Romney acknowledged that the
Massachusetts plan is based upon huge tax
increases:
“If they don’t buy insurance, they’ll find that their
taxes are higher. The employer mandate is pretty
  soft. An employer pays — I think it’s $295 a year
if an employee doesn’t have insurance that they
bought on their own or if they bought through the
  company.”
Romneycare Mandate

The employer mandate is $295 per employee,
meaning that it is a tax of thousands of dollars on
most noncompliant companies.

In a 12/16/07 interview with Tim Russert on Meet the

Romneycare: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22273924/ns/
meet_the_press/t/meet-press-transcript-dec/#.TwctZtVKQ4R
“The plan we put together in Massachusetts I think is working
in Massachusetts. . . Given the kind of differences between
states, I'm not somebody who's going to say what I did in
Massachusetts I'm going to now tell every state they have to
do it the same way. Now, I happen to like what we did. I think
it's a good model for other states. Maybe not every state, but
most. And so what I'd do at the federal level is give to every
state the same kind of flexibility we got from the federal
government, as well as some carrots and sticks to actually get
all their citizens insured. And I think a lot of states will choose
what we did. I wouldn't tell them they have to do our plan.”
Romneycare Mandate
The RomneyCare championed by the Massachusetts
Governor in 2006 is nearly identical to national
legislation enacted in 2010, mandating all of the
major provisions that are present in ObamaCare:
http://thenewamerican.com/usnews/health-care/9383-investigation-

•Mandating individual healthcare (and a fine for not
purchasing insurance)
•Mandating employer healthcare for employees (and a
fine for non-compliance)

• Instituting heavy subsidies for the poor to purchase
insurance

•Creating government regulated “insurance exchanges”
Romneycare Mandate
A provision in Romney’s 2006 healthcare law commonly
known as RomneyCare allows illegal immigrants to
access medical care along with other uninsured
residents.
Because of the law’s Health Safety Net program, poor,
uninsured immigrants may receive taxpayer-subsidized
care at a hospital or health clinic in Massachusetts at
basically no cost, regardless of their immigration
status. http://thenewamerican.com/usnews/politics/9515-

Romney and TARP Bailout

Romney supported the TARP bank bailout in 2008.
In 2008. Romney was quoted on FOXNews
discussing his support for the Bailout to Wall
Street. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A2EqhZND1_I

In the 2009 CPAC speech, Governor Romney stated
that while everyone did not agree on TARP, it was
necessary to prevent a cascade of bank collapses.
Romney and TARP Bailout
Romney has continued to defended TARP as a current
presidential candidate: (“Mitt Romney Defends TARP At
Debate,” RealClearPolitics.com 10/11/2011)
“There is no question but that the action of President
Bush and that Secretary Paulson took was designed
to keep not just a collapse of individual banking
institutions, but to keep the entire currency of the
country worth something and to keep all the banks
from closing, and to make sure we didn’t all lose our
jobs. My experience tells me that we were on the
precipice, and we could have had a complete
meltdown of our entire financial system, wiping out
all the savings of the American people. So action had
to be taken.”
Romney and Wall Street
Campaign Contributions

If elected President, Romney’s allegiance may be
headed northeast as expected. He has received
a significant amount of campaign contributions
from those same Wall Street banks that received
taxpayer bailout money, such as Goldman Sachs,
Morgan Stanley, J.P. Morgan, Wells Fargo, and
Bank of America to name a few.

Romney Invests in
Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac
Mitt Romney has long been critical of Fannie Mae and
Freddie Mac, blaming the government-backed
housing lenders for inducing the home-mortgage
crisis and saying they have become too unwieldy.
http://www.multiplechoicemitt.com/page/7/

Yet Romney has profited from investments that were
made in both government entities, according to his
personal finance disclosure forms and documents
compiled by American Bridge.

Romney Invests in
Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac
“Once again, Mitt Romney has proven his
hypocrisy knows no limits.” said Ty
 Matsdorf, spokesman for American Bridge,
which was formed earlier this year and has
been going through the records of President
 Obama’s potential opponents. “To
continually attack the housing crisis, yet
invest up to a half a million dollars in the
 major players is absolutely mind
boggling. I didn’t know a person could flip
flop on themselves, but Romney has
 proven that wrong.”
Romney Invests in
Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac
On his financial disclosure statement filed in
 August 2011, Romney reported owning
 between $250,001 and $500,000 in a mutual
fund that invests in debt notes of Fannie Mae,
 Freddie Mac, among other government
entities. Over the previous year, he had
 reported earning between $15,001 and
$50,000 in interest from those investments.
Romney and Government
Spending
According to memos, emails, and other records now
housed in the state archives, the Romney administration
made the pursuit of federal funding a top priority,
establishing a federal grants office to scour for
opportunities and bolstering its presence in DC by
retaining a powerful lobbying shop for help.
Internal documents show the administration bemoaning
its low ranking in an annual "pork list" detailing which
states brought home the most federal bacon, and
aggressively planning to boost that ranking. Which they
did: Between 2003, when Romney took office, and 2006,
Massachusetts climbed as high as nine spots in the pork
rankings. --Mother Jones

Romney and Tax Increases
The biggest tax increase for residents of Massachusetes
is in the form of mandated health insurance or
Romneycare.
His first budget, presented under the cloud of a $2
billion deficit, balanced the budget with some spending
cuts, but a $500 million increase in various fees was
the largest component of the budget fix.
The independent FactCheck.org noted that “the
Massachusetts Department of Administration and
Finance says that fee increases during Romney’s tenure
added up to $260 million per year, with another $174
million raised from closing some corporate tax
‘loopholes.’
Romney and Tax Increases

The independent Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation
puts the revenue total of fee hikes and tax loophole-
closings at between $740 and $750 million a year.”

Romney and Amnesty/
Illegal Aliens
Romney has flip-flopped on this position so it is really
unclear how he stands. Back in 2007, Romney
clearly articulated that all illegal aliens should be able
to sign up for residency or permanent citizenship
without special pathway or guarantee that all will
stay here. He said the following:
“You say to people who are here illegally today, you
are not going to be able to work here unless you
register, unless — and we will give you [a] transition
period of time, and then ultimately you have got to
go home, apply for permanent residency here or
citizenship, if you want to try and do that, but get in
line behind everyone else.”

Illegal Aliens
“Like the Social Security number did when it caught
mission creep, the national ID Romney talks about
would come to be used to control access to housing, to
financial services and credit, gun ownership, health
care and medicine, the list goes on and on. It’s
technically possible to have a biometric card that solely
indicates one’s qualification to work under federal law,
but as I wrote in my paper, “Franz Kafka’s Solution to
Illegal Immigration,” there is almost no chance that the
government would limit itself this way. E-Verify requires
a national identity system, and Mitt Romney wants that
national identity system.” Jim Harper, Cato Institute

Romney and Global Warming
Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney told voters in
New Hampshire that the pollution causing global warming
needs to be reduced.
“It’s important for us to reduce our emissions” that cause
global warming: I don’t speak for the scientific community,
of course, but I believe the world’s getting warmer. I can’t
prove that, but I believe based on what I read that the
world is getting warmer. And number two, I believe that
humans contribute to that. I don’t know how much our
contribution is to that, because I know that there have been
periods of greater heat and warmth in the past but I believe
we contribute to that. And so I think it’s important for us to
reduce our emissions of pollutants and greenhouse gases
that may well be significant contributors to the climate
change and the global warming that you’re seeing.”
Romney and Abortion
Romney has flip-flopped on this issue as well which
makes it hard to determine what he really believes
about the unborn.
During his 2002 run for Governor of Massachusetts,
Romney’s position on abortion was identical to Ted
Kennedy and the rest of the liberal Democrats in the
state: “Let me make this very clear: I will
preserve and protect a woman’s right to
choose,” Romney said during the 2002
gubernatorial debates with Democratic candidate
Shannon O’Brien.
Since going on the campaign trail for President in
2008, Romney has claimed a conversion to the pro-
life side of the issue.
Romney Purged his Records
Romney spent nearly $100,000 in state funds to
replace computers in his office at the end of his term
as governor of Massachusetts in 2007 as part of an
unprecedented effort to keep his records secret,
Reuters has learned.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/45575484/ns/business-
stocks_and_economy/t/romney-got-permission-destroy-boxes-
records/#.TweDI9VKQ4Q
The effort to purge the records was made a few
months before Romney launched an unsuccessful
campaign for the Republican presidential nomination
in 2008.
Romney Purged his Records
11 of his aides bought the hard drives of their state-
issued computers to keep for themselves. Also before
he left office, the governor's staff had emails and
other electronic communications by Romney's
administration wiped from state servers, state
officials say. http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/12/06/us-
usa-campaign-romney-computers-idUSTRE7B500X20111206
Those actions erased much of the internal
documentation of Romney's four-year tenure as
governor, which ended in January 2007. Precisely
what information was erased is unclear.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi on a love seat at the
National Mall to make a “We Can Solve It”
television commercial.

Together, Newt and Nancy helped promote a
three year, multi-million dollar campaign by Al
Gore to push for inclusion in a global warming
treaty, promote cap and trade legislation, and
mandate reduced greenhouse gases.
Gingrich and the Council on
Foreign Relations (CFR)
Since 1990, he has been a member, of the
Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), a
subversive group founded in 1921 as a
think tank of influential politicians and
policymakers dedicated to sacrificing
national independence to create a global
government.

Gingrich and the Council on
Foreign Relations (CFR)

The policies promoted by the Council on
Foreign Relations (CFR) in the fields of
defense, foreign policy, and international
relations become, with a regularity which
defies the laws of chance, the official policies
of the United States Government.
Newt Gingrich and the
United Nations
In December 2004, at the request of Rep. Frank
Wolf (R-VA), Congress directed the United States
Institute of Peace to establish a Task Force on the
United Nations. The twelve-member bipartisan Task
Force, chaired by former House Speaker Newt
Gingrich and former Senate Majority Leader George
Mitchell, cooperated with the support of leading
public policy organizations to assess reforms that
would enable the UN to better meet the goals of its
1945 charter and offer Congress an actionable
agenda to strengthen the UN.

Newt Gingrich and the
United Nations
This is an inverse relationship – as the United
Nation grows stronger and obtains more
influence and control over the affairs of the
world, the United States will have to give up
more of its sovereignty. There is no way around
this and Newt knows this.
Newt Gingrich - Summary
Gingrich’s lack of moral character should be the first
area of concern to all Americans. His infidelity in two
marriages should be a clear sign that he is not going to
be faithful with his promises to the American public
whom he does not know. A leopard cannot change his
spots and his multiple episodes of infidelity are clear
indications that he is not trustworthy.
He has a 20-year history in the House of
Representatives where he continually violated his oath
to abide by the Constitution. As President, he cannot
be trusted to abide by his Constitutional oath of office
to protect, preserve and defend the Constitution of the
United States or our liberties for that matter.
Newt Gingrich - Summary

Most importantly, his membership with the subversive
and one-world promoting organization - the Council on
Foreign Relations (CFR) - should alarm all Americans.
His allegiance will be to the CFR and its one-world
agenda since they are the puppet masters behind the
scenes in Washington, D.C.

He has a 20-year history in the House of
Representatives where he continually violated his oath
to abide by the Constitution. A leopard does not
change his spots. As President he cannot be trusted to
abide by his Constitutional oath of office to protect,
preserve and defend the Constitution of the United
States or our liberties for that matter.

Ron Paul – Controversial or
Constitutional Votes?
Why is Ron Paul’s record questionable to some
conservatives? The answer is simple and once understood,
every freedom loving American should rally behind the only
candidate who takes his oath of office seriously and honors
the Constitution.
Unlike the bulk of the hypocrites pretending to
possess any fidelity for the Constitution, Ron Paul
does not compromise on the oath of office he took.
He votes according to the enumerated powers given
to the federal government by the Constitution. The
legislature, executive, or judiciary do not have any
power to legislate, regulate, or interfere with
anything or meddle in anything except those items
that are enumerated in the Constitution. (continued)

Everything else belongs to the states respectively
and the people. So ask yourself this: Is this piece of
legislation within the confines of the enumerated
powers given to the federal government? If not,
then the government has no business legislating,
regulating or interfering. It is pretty easy to see why
some of Paul’s votes would cause controversy among
conservatives. But once this foundational principle of
liberty is understood, it makes a whole lot of sense.

Gun Owners of America (GOA) Executive Director
Larry Pratt recently conferred the “Defender of the
Second Amendment Award” upon Congressman Ron
Paul. “Many politicians claim to be pro-Second
Amendment and pro-gun ownership, but more often
than not their voting record says otherwise,” said Pratt.
“In Ron Paul’s decades in government, he has been an
unwavering champion of the Second Amendment by
introducing legislation protecting gun owners’ rights –
and their privacy. “A lot of ‘gun-friendly’ members of
Congress have bad Second Amendment votes. Ron
Paul does not,” Pratt said.

Ron Paul – 2nd Amendment
Ron Paul has been a leader in the fight to defend and
restore the Second Amendment. He has sponsored
legislation to repeal the following:
• the Brady law;
• the requirement to lock up your safety (guns);
• the law permitting the US to be part of the UN (which,
among other attacks on American freedoms, seeks to ban
privately transferred firearms);
• participation in UNESCO — which has been used to dumb
down US education standards;
• the federal prohibition on importation of guns on a
sporting basis test;
• federal prohibitions on any pilot wishing to carry a
handgun to and in his cockpit; and,
• the so-called “assault weapons” ban (prior to its sunsetting
in 2004).
Ron Paul – 2nd Amendment
Ron Paul has a 100% pro-gun voting record with the
National Association for Gun Rights. Dudley Brown,
NAGR Executive Director said, “No member of
Congress pays more attention to Second Amendment
issues than Ron Paul.”

Ron Paul – Introduces
Alternative Immigration
Proposal
In 2005, Congressman Paul proposed a three part plan
to address immigration:

•First, better enforcement of the laws we’ve got-- which
plainly call for illegal immigrants to be arrested and
deported and for our borders to be secured.

•Second, proposed eliminating the two main magnets
attracting illegal immigrants to illegally enter the
country, the welfare magnet and the citizenship
magnet.

•Finally, proposed ending birth-right citizenship.

HR 418- A National ID Bill Masquerading as Immigration
Reform http://paul.house.gov/index.php?option=com
_content&task=view&id=214&Itemid=60

HON. RON PAUL OF TEXAS BEFORE THE US HOUSE OF
REPRESENTATIVES February 9, 2005:
“I rise in strong opposition to HR 418, the REAL ID Act. This
bill purports to make us safer from terrorists who may
sneak into the United States, and from other illegal
immigrants. While I agree that these issues are of vital
importance, this bill will do very little to make us more
secure. It will not address our real vulnerabilities. It will,
however, make us much less free. In reality, this bill is a
Trojan horse. It pretends to offer desperately needed border
control in order to stampede Americans into sacrificing what
is uniquely American: our constitutionally protected liberty.”
Ron Paul – Immigration
In December 12, 2005, Ron Paul wrote on immigration:
“A sensible bill would
 bolster enforcement of existing immigration laws,
 reject any form of amnesty,
 and address the underlying welfare state that adds to
  the problem.
“I fear, however, that Congress will bow to the
president and accept some sort of amnesty. Even
worse, I fear Congress may use the immigration bill to
create a national employment database that has
nothing to do with border control and everything to do
with monitoring American citizens and employers.”
http://www.dailypaul.com/133203/ron-paul-dont-complicate-
immigration-reform
Ron Paul – Immigration
(continued)
“Most Americans understandably want Congress to do
something about illegal immigration, which has become
a national embarrassment. One important solution is
better enforcement of the laws we’ve got -- which
plainly call for illegal immigrants to be arrested and
deported. Congress can pass any law it wants, but
unless federal agencies enforce those laws they are
meaningless.”
“First, enforce existing laws by controlling the borders
once and for all. We must recognize that true national
defense means defending our own borders and
coastlines. This is the primary constitutional
responsibility of the federal government.”
Ron Paul – Immigration Policy
“Second, we must end birthright citizenship by
constitutional amendment, if necessary. House Joint
Resolution 46, which I introduced earlier this year, begins
the process in Congress. As long as illegal immigrants
know that their children born here will be citizens, the
perverse incentive to sneak into this country remains
strong. Citizenship involves more than the mere location
of one’s birth. True citizenship requires cultural
connections and an allegiance to the United States.
“Finally, we must end welfare state subsidies for
illegal immigrants. Some illegal immigrants-- certainly
not all-- receive housing subsidies, food stamps, free
medical care, and other forms of welfare. This alienates
taxpayers and breeds suspicion of immigrants, even
though the majority of them work very hard.”

Governor Perry would later note that the letter was a
call to action and not a direct call to pass the legislation
containing TARP. However, the timing of the letter does
not support this claim. The letter was sent on
September 1, 2008. It followed a failed attempt to pass
a bailout package and was sent on the very day the
Economic Recovery Act of 2008 was passed through
the House.

Rick Perry – Trans Texas
Corridor (TTC)
Against major opposition from Texans who were
against the Trans Texas Corridor (TCC) - a $150-
billion boondoggle - Perry vetoed a bill to defeat the
TCC at the end of the 2007 legislature session with
no time remaining for the Legislature to appeal the
veto. http://thenewamerican.com/usnews/politics/6984-rick-

The bill was delayed in the legislative session because
Governor Perry traveled to Istanbul to meet with the
secretive and globalist Bilderberg group. When he
returned from this trip, he vetoed the bill against the
wishes of the majority of Texans.
Rick Perry – Trans Texas
Corridor (TTC)
Loss of private property and the issue of eminent domain were
substantial concerns of Texans over the TCC. Perry’s record on
eminent domain issues remains inconsistent at best, and the
Trans Texas Corridor which he favors will require eminent
domain takings if it is to proceed.

Even his fellow Republican Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison
commented in October 2009:
“The Trans-Texas Corridor will not be officially dead until
Rick Perry is no longer governor and his political appointees
are no longer running TxDOT. Texans can’t trust Rick Perry
when it comes to protecting their land from the
government, ceasing to lease our highways to foreign
companies or ending the Trans-Texas Corridor.”

Rick Perry –
Education for Illegal Immigrants

Under Governor Perry, Texas was the first state to
pass an in-state tuition law in 2001.
Expressing doubletalk, Perry noted on his website that
the "free flow of drugs, weapons and people across the
border ... can undercut economic development,
education and trade" yet signed a state immigration
law known as the Texas DREAM (Development, Relief,
and Education for Alien Minors) Act. Through this
action, Texas became the first state to pass an in-state
tuition law.

Education for Illegal Immigrants
During a border summit that same year Perry stated,
“We must say to every Texas child learning in a
Texas classroom, ‘We don’t care where you come
from, but where you are going, and we are going to
do everything we can to help you get there.’ And
that vision must include the children of
undocumented workers. That’s why Texas took the
national lead in allowing such deserving young
minds to attend a Texas college at a resident rate.
Those young minds are a part of a new generation of
leaders[;] the doors of higher education must be
open to them. The message is simple: educacion es
el futuro, y si se puede [education is the future, and
  yes, we can].”

Joe Gomez for Houston radio station KTRH observed,
“The bill signed into law in 2001 allows illegal
immigrants to get in-state tuition so long as they
intend to apply for permanent residency, but who’s
checking to make sure they go through with the
process?”
Perry has permitted so-called "sanctuary cities" in
Texas — and in this year's state legislative session,
allowed a bill to die on his desk which would have
outlawed these cities.

Some observers have suggested that Perry's lax policy
on immigration may be a bow to his many important
construction-industry donors — donors who depend
heavily on the illegal-immigrant workforce in order to
conduct business.
While the correlation between illegal immigrants
and crime is almost impossible to quantify
precisely, the available numbers indicate that
Arizona -- as well as California and Texas -- are
dealing with increased crime as a result of high
illegal immigrant populations and
activity. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/04/29/border-

Rick Perry –
Largest Tax Increase
On May 18, 2006 Perry signed into law a Business Margin
Tax that dramatically changed the way businesses are
taxed in Texas. The Dallas Morning News (DMN) May 16,
2006 called it ‘the largest tax increase in Texas. The
paper continued,
“In 2006, the state was facing a judicial mandate to
change the unconstitutional way it funded public
schools, mostly through property taxes. Under Perry's
leadership, a tax swap was created that cut school
property taxes by up to one-third. To pay for that,
Perry signed a bill that nearly tripled the amount Texas
collects from businesses. The tax swap created a net
tax decrease, but the new business tax coupled with
one added to tobacco still counts as the largest tax
   increase in Texas.”

Texas Conservative Review (TCR) echoed the DMN,
adding,
“[W]hat really irks conservatives is a business would
have to pay taxes whether it made a profit or not. In
that way, it is worse than a corporate income tax.
The non-partisan Tax Foundation in 2006 described
gross receipts taxes as poor tax policy that lead to
harmful tax pyramiding, distort companies [sic]
structures, and damage the performance of state
  and local economies. (continued)h

Texas Conservative Review (TCR) (continued)
“The tax was sold as a "trade-off" for lower property
taxes. This is a recurring myth that never works…
It's hard to believe but the Texas Gross Receipts
(Margins) Tax on business proposed by a
Republican, Governor Perry, and passed by a GOP
dominated legislature in 2006 was further
complicated in 2007. This was the largest tax
increase in Texas history, which requires business to
pay up to 10% of its gross income to the state while
   large corporations were given loopholes.”

Rick Perry – In Summary

Throughout the whole of his governorship, Rick Perry
has assembled a record full of inconsistencies which
warrant scrutiny. His rhetoric does not match his
record. What seems to be consistent, however, is his
liberal leanings toward big government. He may have
changed his party affiliation but his policies are still
more closely aligned with the Democratic party than
the Republican party.

In 1988, he served as Texas chairman of Democrat Al
Gore's presidential bid. The following year, he joined
the Republican Party.
Rick Perry –
In Summary

In the debates, he rarely mentions the Constitution as
his source of authority or decision making and has yet
to say that he will honor his oath of office.
Unfortunately, his actions as Governor lean toward him
not honoring the Constitution or principles of liberty, or
limited government.

Perry is affiliated with the elite globalist group the
Bilderberg and it goes to say that he may parade as a
conservative but his support and allegiance will
ultimately go to promote the globalist agenda. His
affiliation with Bilderberg should be of utmost concern
to any freedom loving American.

               Executive Orders

» How did the majority of this come about?

» A lot of the usurpation came about
through Executive Orders issued by the
    President.
Although just as much came about through
negligence of Congress and the usurpation of
     the Supreme Court.
     Legislative Powers in the President?
» Executive orders are presidential
proclamations or directives that have the
force of law without prior congressional
    approval.

» Although these orders usually pertain to
    government agencies and officials, their
effects often reach the average citizen.

» No constitutional basis exists for any
president to legislate or make laws
    through executive orders.
    Legislative Powers in the President??

» In the beginning, the President or his
cabinet officers issued executive orders to
    their departments.

» They were simply administrative orders and
    affected only the administrators and
    agencies under the Executive branch.

» They have progressed to the point where
they now change/affect policy for the
    nation as law.
