Cosmetic & Reconstructive Plastic Surgery
(Adult & Pediatric)
Title: Physician Assistant

  Responsibilities included first assist in OR, clinc hours, hospital rounding, inpatient
 & outpatient consults, dictations (discharge summaries and H&Ps), and occasional
 weekends.
  On-call every other week. Responsibility included taking call for all 3 physicians in
 the practice.
  Effective communication and teamwork for complete care of my patients with Breast
 Surgeons, Neurosurgery Team, Radiation Oncologists, ID, NPs/PAs, and Residents
  Proficient in oral blocks & Botox injections. Assisted with Sculptra & Juvederm
 injections
  Managed post op patients in clinic when attending physician out of town
  Managed 10 pediatric patients with ear anomalies with application of Ear Well
 System.
  Daily clinic use of ‘Mirror’ for patient pre-op & post-op photos and imaging
  Participated in specialty related conferences at Northside Hospital (Breast) & Emory
 (vascular malformations) and occasional weekly meetings with the plastic surgery
 fellows.

    Arranged donated flights through Continental CAREFORCE
    Arranged surgical and medical teams & hospital accommodations at Piedmont
       Hospital
    Arranged and managed all pre op, intra op, and post op appointments
    Interviewed and selected new host family for the patient
    CNN filmed a TV segment which aired on CNN Domestic, CNN International,
       and CNN Espanol, as well as written piece on CNN.com

Design Project Member

      Participated in clinical immersion course designed to allow students to “design”
       in the actual environment of use; thereby, increasing “real-world” understanding
       and better designs/results
      Evaluated potential designs based on 4 hour rotations in ER, conversations with
       medical personnel, and brainstorming sessions
      Led research project team to a successful design within budget and timeline and
       ultimately resulted in improved assessment of patient needs
