Primary Committee Responsibilities
    Represent all Affiliates to the national Board of Governors.
    Present the interests and concerns of Affiliates to NAFA.
    Support the mission and goals of NAFA.
    Committee may elect to sponsor and plan the annual Networking Welcome Reception at the Institute & Expo.
    Committee may elect to sponsor the keynote speaker at I&E, with joint approval from NAFA.
    Assist in the development of a sponsorship program for the annual Institute & Expo.
    Encourage Affiliates to submit articles and article ideas to NAFA.
    Earn recognition for Affiliates as sources of valuable and good information and services.
    Encourage the professionalism of all Affiliates.
    Encourage Affiliate involvement in and support of NAFA at the local and national levels.
    Recruit professionals to join NAFA.

Primary Committee Chair Responsibilities
    Encourage active participation on the committee by Affiliates.
    Attend quarterly Board of Governors meetings.
    Communicate regularly with the reporting Officer or Trustee and for the committee.
    Lead regularly scheduled meetings and conference calls of the committee.
    Serve as key liaison between committee members and NAFA staff.
    Work with NAFA staff to ensure participation, and equal sharing of workload, by committee members.
    Work with NAFA staff to prepare draft reports for the Board of Trustees.
    Work with NAFA staff to prepare a draft report for the Annual Report.

Secondary Committee Chair Responsibilities
    Serve as a member of the I&E Curriculum Committee
    Serve as a member of the I&E Steering Board
    Serve as an advisor to the Education Steering Board
    Serve as an advisor to the Education Development Committee
Selection of Committee Leaders & Members
The Affiliates Committee may recommend to the NAFA President a candidate whom they would like to serve as Chair,
and another candidate whom they would like to serve as Vice Chair, of the Affiliates Committee. The NAFA President
will appoint the Committee Chair and Vice Chair and seek Board of Trustee approval of the nominees. The Affiliates
Committee Chair may select all committee members.
NOTE: This committee meets in-person at each Board of Governors meeting. Expenses related to these meetings are
customarily paid from the Affiliates checking account.

All activities of this committee are coordinated through the NAFA President and Executive Director. The
committee shall have unrestricted access to the Association’s personnel and records and will be given the
resources to discharge its duties.

Primary Committee Responsibilities
     Examine NAFA’s payment records to ensure payments are proper with respect to NAFA’s policies and
      procedures, verify adequacy of the Association’s systems and controls, and evaluate Management’s
      operating effectiveness.
     Monitor and make recommendations concerning the integrity of the consolidated financial statements
      and related disclosures made by Management.
     Review the scope and extent of services provided by the independent accountants during the year,
      including their audit examination and staffing for the audit.
     Review the independent registered public accountant/accounting firm reports.
     At conclusion of audit, address questions and concerns to the Executive Director.
     Report major issues of concern, or recommendations for change, to the Board of Trustees within 10 days
      of completion of the audit.
     Prepare a brief report of the audit results for publication in NAFA’s Annual Report.

Primary Committee Chair Responsibilities
     Coordinate all work of the committee and report to Board of Trustees.

Selection of Committee Leaders & Members
The NAFA President shall appoint annually an Audit Committee consisting of three full and/or associate
members who are not part of the Board of Governors.

 NOTE: This committee meets once annually, to conduct the Association audit at the NAFA office of record.

All activities of the Certification Board are coordinated through a NAFA Officer or Trustee and an employee on
the NAFA staff. Board education recommendations are presented to the Education Steering Board and, if
approved, are then passed to the Board of Trustees, for approval. All such recommendations must include cost
and resource estimates.

Primary Board Responsibilities
    Foster professional education through a curriculum that features the important elements of effective fleet
      management in keeping with NAFA’s Education Competency Model.
    Oversee all facets of the CAFM program including curriculum, objective examinations, enrollment
      qualifications, certification, and recertification.
    Continuously review and update the curriculum and corresponding exam question pool

      effective fleet management in keeping with NAFA’s Education Competency Model (ECM).
    Oversee all facets of every NAFA seminar, including content, course outlines, materials, pricing and
      instructors.
    Continuously review education product offerings to ensure all competencies within the ECM are
      represented by up-to-date NAFA publications.
    Develop new and updated products in line with advances in technology and industry best practices.

All activities of the Education Steering Board are coordinated through the ESB Chair and an employee on the
NAFA staff. The ESB can approve projects up to $1,000 and 10 hours of staff time. ESB recommendations for
larger projects are presented to the Board of Trustees for approval and must include cost and resource estimates.

Primary Board Responsibilities
    Serves as an oversight body to approve all of NAFA’s educational programming/services.
    Maintains the integrity of the NAFA Education Competency Model.
    Supports, facilitates, promotes and prioritizes education development and delivery for the fleet
      management profession.
    Coordinates efforts of all NAFA education committees, boards, and councils, including the evaluation of
      regular key indicator reports, to ensure clear communication and cooperation throughout NAFA
      education.
    Allocates resources in the short-term within each budget year to ensure proper flexibility of education
      product/service development.
    Develops, negotiates and oversees education-related partnerships with other organizations.

    Attend all Board of Governors meetings.
    Chair regularly scheduled meetings of the board to discuss progress and actions.

diagram above. The ESB Chair may invite additional advisors from among other NAFA boards and
committees, at his/her discretion.

      and services.

    Seek Member and Affiliate input and action on fuel- and technology-related legislation and regulations
      that would affect fleets.
    Suggest article ideas for publication in NAFA’s magazine and newsletter.
    Regularly review and update the Fleet Fuel Management Guide and other related educational resources
      in coordination with the Education Development Committee.
    Regularly review and update NAFA’s online content related to the Fuel Management discipline in
      coordination with the FleetEd Advisory Council.

The Arrangements Committee is chaired by a Member or Affiliate from the host local chapter of the conference
city. All activities of this committee are coordinated through a NAFA reporting Officer. This committee is
supported by the NAFA Director of Meetings & Education.

Primary Committee Responsibilities
    Develop and execute activities to make registrants feel welcome in host city upon arrival, including at
      host site and airport.
    Recommend to Steering Committee themes, entertainment ideas, décor, and menu selections for Chapter
      Recognition Luncheon.
    Assist Curriculum Committee in identifying and securing local speaker talent for potential use at
      Luncheon.
    Coordinate and provide for an informal attendee guest (e.g. spouse) program which may include
      morning meeting space with refreshments and an on-site contact person with knowledge of local sites
      and activities.
    Develop and present to Steering Committee concepts for the City Information Booth at expo.
    Implement City Information Booth at expo.

Primary Committee Chair Responsibilities
    Seek and secure participation from local Members and Affiliates to fulfill committee responsibilities.
    Lead and direct all committee meetings.
    Key liaison between committee members and NAFA staff.
    Ensure participation, and equal sharing of workload, by all committee members.

    Hold seat on I&E Steering Board & Curriculum Committee.

Note: The Arrangements Committee Chair, through NAFA staff, presents budget requests for the I&E as part
      of the annual budget process that is approved at the October BOG meeting. The Arrangements
      Committee Vice Chair will select his/her committee members by March of the year prior to the event
      he/she will chair.

The NAFA President will seek Board of Trustee approval of the Curriculum Committee Chair, Vice Chair, and
member nominees.

Note: It is recommended that the committee Vice Chair become the committee chair the following year.
However, there is nothing prohibiting the Chair and/or Vice chair from serving two one-year terms, as is the
practice for NAFA’s other national committee leaders, in any year it would serve the best interests of the
association.

The entire Public Safety Group Committee will research the educational needs of public safety fleet managers,
set objectives for public safety educational sessions, manage the PSG Roadeo with NAFA staff, and
recommend speakers and moderators to the Curriculum Committee through its representative on the Curriculum
Committee.

The Certification Board develops and implements an entire track for CAFM candidates.

    Advise staff and develop recommendations of programs and services to further the association’s goals
      and strategic plan.
    Encourage and motivate Chapter Membership Committee Chairs and Chapter Chairs to promote
      membership to non-members and facilitate better membership service.
    Approve all member and affiliate applications, as stated in the NAFA Code of Regulations.

Selection of Committee Leaders & Members
The NAFA President will seek Board of Trustee approval of the Membership Committee Chair and Vice Chair
nominees. The Committee Chair may select all committee members.

All NAFA chapters have at least one representative on the subcommittee of the National Membership
Committee. The chapter Membership Committee Chair is the designated person on this group, unless another
Member or Affiliate has been appointed by the Chapter Chair. The National Membership Committee has
created this group in an effort to easily disseminate chapter membership information and encourage the use of
vital chapter reports posted online for access by chapter leaders. These reports include, but are not limited to,
chapter rosters, chapter analysis reports, chapter prospect lists, and “end-of-the-month” membership reports, in
particular the cancel non-pay, cancel request, and 60 day to renew reports.

NOTE: This committee does not conduct in-person meetings; its work is completed via conference calls,
electronic communications, and other methods.

All activities of this group are coordinated through a NAFA reporting Officer and an employee at NAFA. Group
recommendations are presented to the Board of Trustees for approval.

Primary Group Responsibilities
    Develop topics and speakers for PSG track at the Annual Institute & Exposition to address current and future
      needs and concerns of public safety fleet managers.
    Coordinate and direct all aspects of PSG Roadeo at the Institute & Exposition (I&E)
    Assist in fund-raising efforts for the annual Roadeo.
    Present concerns and recommendations of PSG to Board of Governors.
    Monitor legislative, regulatory and operational issues involving public safety fleets and advise Board of
      Trustees and Headquarters on issues requiring action.
    Encourage Chapters to include programming of interest to public safety fleets and to utilize public safety
      representatives in Chapter presentations.
    Serve as a personal resource for other public safety fleet managers who require assistance greater than those
      available through NAFA headquarters.
    Recommend information and materials to be maintained in FleetED.
    Advise Staff of reference materials and publications that should be retained at NAFA headquarters.
    Develop recommendations for programs to further the Association’s goals and strategic plan.

Primary Group Chair Responsibilities
    Encourage active participation of interested Members/Affiliates to accomplish group goals.
    Attend Board of Governors meetings.
    Communicate regularly with Reporting Officer and Headquarters staff liaison.
    Act as liaison between Chapter Public Safety Group Chairs and national Board.
    Promote NAFA at all levels of government to attract new members.
    Work with NAFA staff to prepare draft reports on project status for the Board of Trustees.
    Work with NAFA staff to prepare a draft report for the Annual Report.

Secondary Committee Chair Responsibilities
    Serve as a member of the I&E Curriculum Committee
    Serve as an advisor to the Education Steering Board
    Serve as an advisor to the Education Development Committee

Safety Group Chair may select all group members.

NOTE: The only in-person meeting the PSG conducts takes place in the city where the I&E is to occur, in conjunction
with the Curriculum and Arrangements planning meetings immediately after the I&E. The purpose of this meeting is to
develop the PSG track for the next year’s I&E. Expenses for this meeting are borne by NAFA.
