  INTRODUCTION

 What is the portal?
 The portal is a website that provides you access to information, tools and
   applications you need to participate as a member of the Department of
   Education community.
 The   portal is customized and personalized for you based on your role
   within the Department.
 Why are we building a portal?
 The web portal will provide powerful benefits to the organization and those
   who teach, research, learn and work within the Department.
 The   portal will contribute to enhanced service, improved communication
   and increased efficiency.

    It will allow the Department of Education to make better use of rich
    knowledge and information resources.
 It will enhance our ability to better connect with and collaborate with one
    another.
 Who is accessing the Department of Education portal?
 All Department of Education staff, teachers and students have access to
    the Portal
PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT

   There is no such system available for department.
   The students cannot communicate with teachers properly.
   There is a great problem in keeping record of daily attendance, performance
    of each student, profile of each person associated with the department.
    There was a lot of difficulties for the student regarding interaction with the
    faculties and viewing the current updates.
   The students can easily communicate with teachers from anywhere.
    Teachers can easily communicate with the parents, and can keep records of
    every student easily and efficiently.
   The proposed system could be accessed from any corner of the world on
    net.
SERVICES AVAILABLE BY PORTAL
 Different users have access to different tools, services and applications.
 Current services being delivered through the Portal include:
 Email, Calendar, Intranet News.
 Professional Learning, Collaborative Projects,
 Reporting to Parents
 Some specialist services currently being rolled out to schools include:
 Online Teaching and Learning System,
 Web conferencing and Instant Messenger.
 FACILITIES FOR STUDENTS
    After registration by administrator/getting mail of registration student can
    login with login details shown in mail
   After login student can fill up 3-step registration form
   Personal Details form
   Favorites Details form
   Educational Details form
    Can keep sensitive information (like address, phone) public or private so
    that the information can be visible/invisible on profile
 Can Edit/Update registration Details

   View images, Articles, Projects, Seminars(self uploaded)
   Delete images, Articles, Projects, Seminars
   Send Internal Messages to other students, Faculties or Administrator
   Inbox (Read messages sent by other Student, Faculty or Administrator)

  Installation:

  from http://wordpress.org/download/


 unzip the WordPress package


 cpanel


 MySQL Database Wizard


 Create the Database and a User

1.Once you enter the WordPress setup information, will finish the installation.

    proper medium to communicate with the faculties over there probems regarding
    studies and other topics.

       There was a great problem in keeping record of daily attendance, performance
    of each student, profile of each person associated with the department.

      There were a lot of difficulties for the student regarding the current updates of
    the department.All the latest updates of the departments are provided on the
    website, such as all the information are uploaded on the website as quick as
