Welcome to the PTA Newsletter. We are aiming to keep all parents informed of forthcoming
events plus recruit some extra helpers. We would like to thank everybody for the tremendous support
we have received over the years and to welcome any parents that are new to the school.
We are also on the lookout for parents with any fresh ideas for future fundraising events. You may
have enjoyed an event somewhere else and it could be something that the PTA could be able to
PTA – Why bother ?
The PTA at St John Vianney School raises vital funds to pay for much needed equipment as the school
receives minimal funding. The money raised supports the curriculum in many areas enabling all
children access to an interesting and enhanced education.
In 2008, the PTA raised £9,250! Our last newsletter detailed where the money was spent including
£2,810 Partnership visits in 2008/9, £1,000 on new library books, £2,606 replacement of the
P.E/Gym equipment in the school hall and much more.
This year the aim is to raise funds to purchase a projector that can be used in the school hall
for productions, assembly's, music lessons and many other school activities.
Currently, out of a school of 200 pupils there are only about 15 active members! This means a great
deal of work for a few people so we need more help. PLEASE come to a meeting, find out what is
going on in your child’s school.
Date for next meeting is: Thursday November 12th at 7.30pm in the School.
Saturday 28th November – SJV Thursday 17th December – PTA
Parish Christmas Bazarre. Please fundraising Children’s Christmas
come and support your parish, Disco, 6-7.30pm, tickets £2.50 per
something for everyone: Father child includes a drink/crisps. Parents
Christmas, a range of stalls including welcome, mulled wine and mince
bottle tombola, cakes, refreshments pies available.
Xmas Raffle prizes needed! Friday 29th January – PTA Quiz night.
Can you donate a raffle price or do you Bring a team of parents from your childs’
know a Business that can? Please contact year and battle it out in the Parish room.
