garage is about two blocks away. Details are available from the hotel. While there is public transit
(i.e., bus transportation) around Rapid City, most delegates that wish to move around will find
that a rental car is more convenient.

Public Transport in Rapid City
Information about the Rapid Transit System is available at:
http://www.rapidride.org/

Getting to the Hotel Alex Johnson from Rapid City Regional Airport
Rapid City is served by Rapid City Regional Airport which is approximately 10 miles east of
downtown. Rental cars are available at the airport from Hertz, Avis, National, Budget, and Dollar.

For those not wishing to rent a car, shuttle service is available from Airport Express Shuttle.
Cost of the shuttle is $18.00 for one person, $28.00 for two people, and $11.00 for three or more

RAPID CITY SPECIFICS

Weather
Weather in the Rapid City is usually sunny and warm and often very windy at the airport. A long
range forecast for Rapid City in August is provided as a guide:

       Temperature: Min 14°C, Max 30°C
       Humidity: 71 (am), 35 (pm).
       Wet days/month 9
       Elevation (downtown) 3202 Ft (976 m)

Electrical Appliances
The electric power supply is 110 volts AC, with a frequency of 60 hertz.
Power outlets use a plug design that is primarily standard within the US, hence many visitors
from outside the US will need to purchase a plug converter. The majority of battery chargers for
mobile phones and laptops will accept a wide range of input voltages, hence a voltage converter
will probably not be needed.

Currency
The unit of currency in the US is the $ (USD). However, cash machines (ATMs) will accept
overseas bank cards and credit cards are accepted for most other currencies. Two major banks
are located within easy walking distance.
