April Speaker: Linda Perry
Ms. Perry started her career in the RIM Industry in 1985 as a salesperson for a local service bureau. From 1989 to
1990 she worked in the Marketing Department of BMS Catastrophe where she traveled across the US and Canada
speaking on the subject of Disaster Recovery and Contingency Planning. Ms. Perry founded Information
Technologies of America, Inc. in 1991. Through her direction, ITA, Inc. had consistent growth over the next six years,
the company was sold in 1997. She currently owns Focal Point Solutions where she stores records and has
recovered thousands of documents and media from fire and flood.
Ms. Perry is Past President of the Association of Records Managers and Administrators (ARMA) Ft. Worth Chapter.
She served on the Standards Advisory and Development Committee for ARMA International for over 6 years. She
was the Project Manager and co-author of "Vital Records" and other technical publications that have been submitted
to ANSI to become a standard. She is a member of the Association of Information and Image Management (AIIM)
and the Southwest Archivists.
Ms. Perry is considered an expert in the document management industry and is a frequent lecturer at meetings,
seminars and workshops. Ms. Perry and her company have recovered millions of micrographic images for companies
across the United States.
Chapter meetings will be held at the American Airlines Training and Conference Center. This is a return to the AMR
Conference Center where Chapter Meetings were held 20 years ago! Check out the Region VI Web Site under development
at http://www.stephenv.com/asisregion6/. Dallas and Houston websites are linked to the Chapter name on the top
bar. Chapters without a website can post content under their Chapter name at the top of homepage. The regional website will
in essence become their Chapter website until they are able to fund and support a website of their own. The region will have
the ability to send out regional e-mails to ASIS members assigned to Region VI and a mail box to respond to their mail.
Several companies have already signed on as sponsors of the web site. Contact John Hewitt at JHewitt@trammellcrow.com

Golf Tournament June 2nd at Hyatt Bear Creek
The golf tournament scheduled for June 2nd at Hyatt Bear Creek is underway with 6 teams confirmed for this event, so far.
Let’s make this year’s event bigger than any so far. We have decided to make our charitable contribution to “Assist the Officer
Program”. All proceeds from the golf tournament will go to this charity. The foundation was established to give financial
assistance to police officers who are facing the loss of income due to a serious injury, life-threatening illness or other
catastrophic event. Immediate assistance is also available to an officer’s family in the event of the death of an active officer.
The foundation is a very worthy cause, and with the help of our vendors, the ASIS North Texas Chapter, and your continuing
support we should be able to give a generous check to this cause. For all those that helped and worked on the tournament
last year, thank-you!
Your sponsorships have helped us with the event and made us strive to improve the way we do business every year. Without
your contributions and support it would not even get off the ground. We look forward to doing this event every year and are
committed to make it better every time we do it. Bill Casey has done a tremendous job in helping put together the teams, and
working with the Hyatt Bear Creek to make this our home course. We Salute Mr. Casey!
We are asking for your great support once again, and we know it’s early, to get the tournament moving in the right direction
we need commitments now. If you need a flyer or invoice for the event contact John Hewitt at firstname.lastname@example.org. You
can also download forms from the chapter site; http://www.ntx-asis10.org/
42nd Annual Law Enforcement Appreciation Nite May 11, 2006
It’s hard to believe, but LEAN 2006 is only a few weeks away. The exciting news for this year is we will be changing the
meeting location. In order to keep the ticket price at $20.00 per ticket instead of $30.00 per ticket we have to move the
location. The new location is Eddie Deens in the shadow of the Dallas Convention Center. It’s located on the Northeast corner
of I30 and Lamar. To get better directions, go to their web site. www.eddiedeen.com/ranch_facility. Tickets are available now.
See list for who you can get tickets from.
North Texas Chapter has the largest LEAN event in the world. The reason is because of the member support we have. We
don’t allow local law enforcement to purchase tickets. Chapter members provide them tickets. Don’t forget that each year we
get calls from various Law Enforcement Agency’s needing tickets. So, if you don’t know any Law folks to invite, let Bob Smoot
know and he will give those contacts to you to provide tickets for. Otherwise, the chapter pays for the ticket. Please purchase
your tickets by Monday, May 9, 2006. We have to guarantee the amount of food we will need. Tickets will not be sold at the
door. We will have a Will Call Ticket Table for tickets you want picked up at the door. Again, we will include any Fire Fighter
and EMT personnel you want to invite.
The only reason we are able to pay for this event is because of the Corporate Sponsors. The cost of the ticket falls way short
of meeting expenses. You can become a Corporate Sponsor by donating $100.00 or more. Contact our Resident Chapter
Beggar, Jim Dollar at 214-638-4961. All Corporate Sponsors will be listed on the Corporate Sponsor Board the night of the
event and listed the June News Letter. Additionally, a reception will be held in their honor on May 10, 2006 at the home of Lee
Roy Armstrong. RSVP to Jim Dollar, LaCora McSwain or Bob Smoot.
We will have Beer, Wine, and all the BBQ you can eat. Dress is Boots and Blue Jeans. We will have a Pickup load of door
prizes. Yellow Rose will be the C&W Band again this year. In this neck of the woods, LEAN has become known as old home
week for local Law Enforcement. You can eat, visit or dance, what ever cranks your tractor.
You can get tickets from the following folks:
