On the way through school, he found he had only
one thin dime left and he was very hungry.
However, he lost his nerve when a lovely young
woman opened the door. Instead of a meal he asked
for a drink of water.
The woman thought he looked hungry, so brought him a
large glass of milk.
He drank it slowly, and then asked, “How much do I owe
you?” “You don’t owe me anything,” she replied. “Mother has
taught us, never to accept pay for a kindness.”
He said...”Then I thank you from my heart.”
Years later that young woman became critically ill. The lo-
cal doctors were baffled. They finally sent her to the big city,
where they called in specialists to study her rare disease.
Dr. Howard Kelly was called in for the consultation. When he heard the name of
the town she came from, a strange light filled his eyes.
Immediately he rose and went down the hall of the hospital to her room. Dressed
in his doctor’s gown he went in to see her. He recognized her at once.
He went back to the consultation room determined to do his best to save her life,
from that day he gave special attention to the case.
After a long struggle, the battle was won. Dr. Kelly requested the business office
to pass the final bill to him for approval.

I’ll Carry You Out
until We are Old
O n my wedding day, I carried my wife in my arms.
The bridal car stopped in front of our one-room flat.
So I carried her into our home. She was then plump
and shy. I was a strong and happy bridegroom.
This was the scene ten years ago.
We had a kid, I went into business and tried to
make more money. When the assets were steadily
increasing, the affection between us seemed to
ebb. Every morning we left home together and got
home almost at the same time. Our kid was study-
ing in a boarding school.
Our marriage life seemed to be enviably happy...
then Dew walked into my life.
My heart once again was immersed in a stream of
love, but this time it was for Dew. Young, attrac-
tive, so tempting, who would not be attracted to
her? I knew I am betraying mywife. But I couldn’t
help doing so.
At the moment, the idea of divorce became clear-
er in my mind although it used to be something
impossible to me.
However, I found it rather difficult to tell my wife
about it. No matter how mildly I mentioned it to
her, she would be deeply hurt. Honestly, she was
a good wife. Every evening she was busy preparing Later that night, when my wife served the last

lecturer, when explaining stress management to an
audience, raised a glass of water and asked, “How
heavy is this glass of water?” Answers called out
ranged from 20g to 500g.
The lecturer replied, “The absolute weight doesn’t matter. It depends on
how long you try to hold it.” “If I hold it for a minute, that’s not a problem.
If I hold it for an hour, I’ll have an ache in my right arm. If I hold it for a day,
you’ll have to call an ambulance. In each case, it’s the same weight, but the
longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes.”
He continued, “And that’s the way it is with stress management. If we carry
our burdens all the time, sooner or later, as the burden becomes increas-
ingly heavy, we won’t be able to carry on. As with the glass of water, you
have to put it down for a while and rest before holding it again.
When we’re refreshed, we can carry on with the burden.” “So, before you
return home tonight, put the burden of work down. Don’t carry it home.
You can pick it up tomorrow.
Whatever burdens you’re carrying now, let them down for a moment if you
can.” “Relax; pick them up later after you’ve rested.

To Get More Done in Less Time
Do you find yourself wishing there were more hours in the day?
Our lives are so filled with work, family, and appointments that we
often can’t seem to fit in everything we want to accomplish in a 24-
hour day. The good news is: there are simple strategies you can use
to make the most of your days!
Here are some great tips to help you to get
more done in less time:
Make a list.
Write out everything that you need to accomplish, and then joy-
fully cross off each task as you complete it. As you see your list
dwindling, it’ll provide the needed motivation to get the rest of
the list done, too.
Determine which tasks are
most important and what can
possibly wait until later on. If
this is something you’re having
trouble with, you may be trying
to squeeze in tasks that can actu-
ally be put on hold for a future
Far too many people put things off to the last possible minute. When this happens,
we rush frantically to accomplish everything, but we end up doing a cruddy job and
get ourselves all worked up for no good reason. There is a better way!
Use your morning hours wisely and get tasks started early in the day. Chances are
you’ll finish them in one day rather than having it drag into a second day.
Do the unpleasant tasks first
A great time management trick is to get the things you dislike out of the way
first. If you keep putting it off, you’ll attempt to squeeze it in somewhere,
and you’ll get the feeling of being overwhelmed.
Multi-task if you can
If you’re able to accomplish two things at once, then by all means
do it. If you can put dinner on the stove while you mend a pair of
pants, you can cut your time in half.
Don’t sacrifice the quality of the tasks you’re performing. If you
burn dinner this only wastes more of your time in the long run.
Improving these skills will reduce your stress level and give
you more time to do the things that make you happy,
leading to a more peaceful and fulfilling life.
