                                   Term 3 Activities

    Monday:                I.D.E.A.S Group – Interests, Dreams, Exploration and
                   Beginning Monday 21st July and continuing every fortnight at the
                                Centre between 9.30am – 11.30am. Everyone
    Tuesday:        Evening Yoga Commences Tuesday 22nd July from 7pm – 8pm. The
                    cost of the course is $55 in advance for the school term, or $7 per
                    week. Venue is Warnervale Athletics Field Hall, corner of Virginia &
                    Warnervale Rds. Warnervale.
     Wednesday: “Just Walk It” Walking Groups The “Wonderful Warnervale
                    Wanderers” commence walking from Warnervale Family & Community
                    Centre every Wednesday morning at 7.30 am.
                    Yoga Commences Wednesday 23rd July, 9.30 until 10.30 am. The
                    cost of the course is $55 in advance for the school term, or $7 per
                    week. Places are limited so book early. Venue is Warnervale Athletics
                    Field Hall, corner of Virginia & Warnervale Rds. Warnervale.
                    Coast Care Counselling Affordable counselling available at
                    Warnervale Family & Community Centre, by appointment only.
     Thursday:      Thursday Craft Circle EveryThursday during school terms from 9.30
                    am till 12 noon. The cost is $5.00 per week. Craft Circle is held at
                    Sparks Rd. Christian Church, 51 Sparks Rd. Woongarrah. Affordable
                    childcare is available, and is held at the Centre.
                    Games Night 6.30pm till 9pm at Warnervale Family & Community
                    No bookings necessary - just pop in and play.
     Friday:                 Family Meeting Point Every Friday 9.30am to 11.30 am. Join
in our playgroup for
                    families with children aged 0-6 years. $2.50 per week. No bookings
                    Bring morning tea for your children. Held at the Centre, see opposite
for activities.
                    Friday Craft Every Friday during school terms from 1.00 pm to 3.00
                    pm at Warnervale Family & Community Centre. $2.00 per week. No
                    bookings needed, just turn up with your craft.


    Facing the Challenge This workshop explores the challenge facing many fathers.
    Be it by yourself, or through sharing the load with your partner, fathers take much
    more responsibility today than ever before. This course explores ways to improve
    your relationship with your child. Topics include changing roles for fathers, dealing
    with kids’ behaviour, building self-esteem in kids, communication: it’s more than
    words, discipline, limit setting and misbehaviour of children, and juggling work, life
    and children. To be run at the Centre on Wednesday evenings over 5 weeks -
    beginning on 13th August from 7pm to 9pm.

    Understanding the Emotional Side of Ageing – a free workshop for seniors
    the tools to cultivate the garden of the mind to explore and release unexpressed
    sow the seeds for Elder wellbeing, reap the rewards of strength and resilience and
                    grow in a
safe, friendly community environment. Facilitated by Jan Bayliss, qualified facilitator
counsellor, on Wednesdays from 6th to 27th August, 2008, from 9.30am – 11.30am.
Gold coin donation welcome and morning tea provided.

Growing Confidence This is a 6 week course which focuses on issues for mothers.
It’s held within a supportive and inclusive atmosphere for exchange of ideas and
experiences. Discussions include how to be assertive and get what you need,
enhancing your communication skills, and how to nurture and feel good about your
self. The course runs from 9.30 am - 12 noon, on Tuesdays from the 19th August to
the 23rd September, and the cost is $3 per week. To be held at Sparks Rd Christian
Church. Childcare is available – bookings essential.

Family Meeting Point Activities in Term 3
15th August – ‘Let’s Read Workshop’ Celebrate Children’s Book Week with book
reading and activities with your children. This year’s theme is ‘Fuel Your Mind.’
29th August – Park Visit Step outside for some outdoor activities and a picnic in the
12th September – Play power workshop Learn about the importance of play for
children with this interactive workshop.

Tax Help commences Wednesday 23rd July at Warnervale Family & Community
