Treat Your Folks to Weekend Getaways
If you had to sit back and think about all the things your folks did for you while you
were growing up, you really have to appreciate all the good things. If you are able to
spare the cash, you should consider treating your folks to a weekend away, just to
say thank you for all of that. It would also make a great mother’s day gift where the
two of them can head off to a spa to get pampered for two straight days. They can
kick back relax and unwind from it all and best of all, they will have you to thank for
it. Now if you want them to make the most of their weekend, you will need to plan a
few things in advance before you send them on their way.
Your parents, or perhaps even the in-laws, can be packed and ready to go for the
two day break in no time especially when they know they have weekend getaways to
take advantage of. They will be more than happy to spend the time in the car driving
to their destination, provided they don’t spend the whole weekend getting there. As
long as the place is within a few hours from home you are golden with the location.
They would most likely want to be able to do things while they are there, so the spa
is a good idea, but it doesn’t have to take up the entire holiday. If you are fortunate
enough to live within a few hours from the beach, then you should consider sending
them there. A beach bungalow would be a great way to spend the time walking on
the beach, watching the sunset or sunrise together and just enjoying each other’s
company away from all the madness back home. If your mom and dad are not keen
to do a lot of walking then you will have to try and find a resort of some sort where
all the activities are in one place. They can enjoy a dip in the heated pool and
sunbath on the grass. Most of the resorts have a lot indoor activities for you to do so
you can at least do something fun together and possibly even get to meet new
people as well.
Once they are done and they are ready to drive back home, they will be happy to
have met new people and more than thankful once they get back and they will know
how much you appreciate what they did for you.
