21: GALA DINNER AND SHOW
                                    COURSES: GENERAL PROGRAM
The main purpose of each Course is to teach laser use in substitution for/association with traditional techniques in
cases where the laser use has favourable risk/effect and cost/benefit ratios.
We would like to establish why, when and how we must use laser in different medical sectors following the teaching
scheme below:
    • Background on Diagnostic methods in each sector of Medicine
    • Background on Therapeutics Treatments
    • Background on the Limits of actual treatments and safety
    • Types of Lasers used and their selected indications
    • Side effects and limitations
    • Present and future
    • How to do it
    • Clinical Practice & Videotapes
    • Hands-on
    • Course evaluation tests
There is need for schematic protocols of laser treatment in each sector, based on the actual
   knowledge of this technique

LASER FLORENCE: THE RENAISSANCE OF ART, SCIENCE & FRIENDSHIP
“Laser Florence”, an annual international event on the latest news about the laser applications in
                                                          th th
human sciences, is held in Florence (Villa Viviani) from 6 to 8 November 2003.

The latest discoveries as well as the researches resulting in medicine and in laser surgery, laser
diagnosis and treatment, will be reviewed in the Medical Congress, the main feature of the event. This
includes plenary sessions and working groups on different specialist fields reviewed by some of the
most outstanding international scientists and experts concerned.
Preliminary programs, list of Invited Speakers, International Scientific Board and Patronages tell very
well what is Laser Florence in the Laser Medicine world: a window which would like to unite the
scientific people avoiding the fragmentation of the resources and of the knowledge. In meantime the
Conferences and the Courses will try to unite people in the name of advanced science. The results
could be used in the improvement of human health.
Short courses run in the clinical setting will demonstrate the practical use of the laser on specific
pathologies.
A series of conferences, from 11,30 a.m. to 1,30 p.m., held by the experts of several sectors will open
to the public that could ask many questions and suggest some ideas. All this is justified by the fact that
laser, in medicine, is showing a continuous and quick evolution.
We need a more and more accurate specialization in order to better employ it.
We are sure of much wider presence of the public and of the scientists who can show new scientific
discoveries for the sake of the World’s Health.
The delegations of the World Health Organization and of the European Community will confirm the
guide lines to be followed in this field of research . Last year the delegations have unanimously agreed
that the Congress has arrived to the “critical mass” as regards its scientific value. This means that
Laser Florence has become one of the main world appointments, and, at the same time, an
international congress with practical courses recognized by the major national and international
institutions.

Abstract plublished in peer journals, proceedings and videotapes are available each year.

See you in Florence…!
