Q. 1 Define development. Compare and contrast the approaches; women in development
     (WID) and gender and development (GAD).                                  (20)

Q. 2 What is gender analysis? Compare the different approaches to gender analysis with
     each other.                                                                  (20)

Q. 3 Discuss the contributions made by the NGOs and Government for women’s
     development.                                                     (20)

Q. 4 Write a note on the positive (Bretton Woods institutions) and negative
     (dependency theory) western influence on the women’s development in the
     third world countries.                                             (20)
Q. 5 Discuss the impact of world conferences on the development of women in general
     and Pakistani women in particular.                                        (20)

     former government has done the most harm to the development of Pakistani
     women.                                                                 (20)

Q. 3 Why is politics important for the process of development and also point out the
     factors that hinder women’s participation in politics.                     (20)

Q. 4 Deliberate on various status difference between working and non-working women. (20)

Q. 5 Discuss the various socio-cultural dynamics that impede the development of
     women in the Pakistani society.                                       (20)
