           SILENT AUCTION BIDDING INSTRUCTIONS

The Sunflower silent auction will start at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 8, 2010 during the
Sunflower Carnival. The auction will run until 6:00 p.m.

The items up for bid will be on display at the auction for you to shop. Each item up for
bid will have a bid sheet next to it. There will be an initial bid and a description of the
item already listed on the bid sheet. If you are interested in an item, write your name
down along with your bid amount.

Your bid will be the winning bid until someone else comes along and outbids you. So, if
you are really interested in any one item, please check back frequently and make sure you
are the highest bidder at the end of the auction. There is no limit on the amount of times
that you can bid on any one item. Also, you may increase the bid by any amount you
wish (minimum increase is $1.00)

Full payment is required the night of the auction. (If you forgot your checkbook, just run
home and get it. Carnival doesn’t end until 6:30 p.m.) The winning bidder may pay by
cash or check. You must remove items at the end of the auction, unless other
arrangements are made with the auction committee.

TAX INFO: For donors, the entire value of your donation is deductible and the Silent
Auction Committee will send you a letter for your records. For bidders, the portion of the
winning bid in excess of the item’s value is deductible as a charitable contribution. Item
values on the bid sheets are estimates only and are not guaranteed by Sunflower PTO.

Sunflower PTO and School neither endorse nor make any warranty as to the products or
services purchased at this auction. Any complaint or concern regarding a product or
service should be directed to the merchant or donor.

The auction committee reserves the right to reject a bid from any bidder. In the event of
a dispute, the auction committee members have the sole and final discretion to determine
the winning bidder or to re-offer and re-sell the item.

Silent auction is fun, easy and somewhat addictive. So, while your kids are participating
in the numerous carnival activities just for them, take the time to visit our auction. All
proceeds raised go to support Sunflower School. See you at the auction.
