Playwriting as a Journey The fire to write that first play came about when Horovitz's parents took him to see Lorraine Hansberry's classic A Raisin in the Sun, a show about a black family on the south side of Chicago. Going Strong So far, Horovitz has had his plays translated into more than 30 different languages. Because of his ultra-specific word choice, the translations don't always come out well. If I can't, the play can't. Because it comes out of the same brain.
