                 Payments will be
                  shown on the
                customer’s next bill
                                                      Payment Events
 Contains high-level information about a payment
      Who made it?
      How much?
      When was it made?

    Payment Event
      John Smith,
     $200, June 6th
                                                           Payment Tenders
 Information about the specific payment tenders that make up the Payment
    Event
      How was it made?
 How much is this tender?
 Many times, there is only 1 Payment Tender for a Payment Event
 In fact, ABCWUA will only have 1 Payment Tender for each Payment Event
 ABCWUA does not manually enter Payments into CC&B
 However, CC&B allows for the case where a customer makes a $200
payment, but wants to pay $50 via cash and $150 via check
      Payment Event Tender
       John Smith,
      $200, June 6th

                                      $150

                                    $50
                                                                    Payments
 So far, we have talked about ‘taking’ money from the customer
 That’s the job of ‘Payment Events’ and ‘Payment Tenders’
 ‘Payments’ define where the payments ‘go’
                                                                       Payments
 Payments are how you tell CC&B where to ‘put’ the money
 Many times, there is only 1 Payment for a Payment Event
 However, the structure allows for the case where:
      a customer wants to make a $250 payment
 but wants $200 on their account (dispersed among their SA’s)
 and wants $50 on their mothers account as well

                                      $150 $50
                                                                $

                                                                  WTREC

                                              Transferring A Payment

• Transferring a Payment
   • Usually takes place when a payment is applied mistakenly to the
     incorrect account

• For instance:
   • Fred Reed made a $106.85 payment on 12/31/2008
   • The Payment Event was taken on behalf of Fred Reed’s account
   • The Payment was applied to Fred Reed’s account
   • However, the Payment was intended to be applied to Alfred
       Reeds account

                                         Transferring A Payment

• The Payment Event is still in Fred Reed’s name
    • but the Payment was canceled for Fred Reed
    • and a new Payment was made for Alfred Reed

                                               Manual Payment Distribution

• Manual Payment Distribution
    • Used in cases where you want to override how the system distributed the
      payment
    • Or if you manually add a payment and want to put specific distribution rules
      on the payment

                                        What Is The Payment Upload?
 Payment Upload Process Discussion
 Payments are processed in Batch, not processed real-time
 However, the batch processes can be run as frequency as desired
          Nightly (at least)
          2-3 times per day
          Hourly
          Etc…
 The Treasury Payment Upload will occur hourly, on the hour, during the
       day
 ABCWUA has to define a process(es) that will load external payments
into the CC&B Payment Upload Staging Table
 From there on, CC&B manages the process
 A batch process (PUPL) manages turning these uploaded data
streams into real payments in CC&B
Thank You!
