Season 4: The first bubbles
The Louis Roederer website is inviting visitors to find out all about the stages
in champagne crafting. This month, it’s off to the cellars to see season 4, which
begins with the first bubbles forming in the wine.

Alcoholic fermentation takes place in vats and lasts for between three
weeks and one month. The sugar is transformed into alcohol due to the
action of yeast. During fermentation, carbonic gas is released – and during
this phase, the wine bubbles.
A creative display takes readers to the heart of the action in the vat,
showing the temperature changes involved.

Frédéric Beigbeder is a writer and French literary critic. In 2009, he won the Renaudot Prize for his book, Un roman français. As chair

ceremony takes place at the Café de Flore, with Louis Roederer champagne present.

Reims, Wednesday December 16, 2009 – Louis Roederer welcomed the panel of the Prix de Flore for a prestigious
dinner at its mansion. Great champagnes were tasted by the guests in a spiritual, epicurean atmosphere,
directly derived from the Café de Flore…

                      PARIS CELEBRATES CHAMPAGNE
The principle is simple: the finest Champagne firms hold a Nebuchadnezzar tasting session, with a bottle fit to
demonstrate once again that Champagne wines are great wines. Companies invite their customers and friends to
this event and the subsequent dinner.

This particular evening was held on Thursday December 10 at the restaurant Laurent.

These evenings feature two parts: a tasting session
and aperitif drinks followed by a fine dinner -
with champagne of course - in the company of a
 Champagne firm or cellar master.

The evening begins with a presentation of twenty or so
cuvées selected according to a particular theme. This year
pride of place was given to Vintage Rosés.

For the occasion, Louis Roederer presented the following
Brut Rosé 1999 for the tasting session and during the dinner,
Brut Premier with the cold starter
Vintage Brut 2003 with the warm starter
and Carte Blanche for the dessert.

Time spares no-one. With the passage of years, the Clos Mireille had fallen into slumber. After
being lived in by the Ott* family for 50 years, this charming, characterful house gradually ceased
The years went by, leaving the Clos deserted. All that was left were family memories and an
empty house. That was when Frédéric Rouzaud decided to give it a new lease of life: beginning in
2007, two years of work enabled the creation of a new establishment which is both aesthetic and
welcoming. The work has restored the domaine’s greatness of soul. Today there can be nothing
but praise for the talent and expertise of Mr. Astier de Vilatte, who has presided over the rebirth
of this jewel of the Ott* Domains.
The concept of the «Tsars’ Dinner», originally known as the «Three
Emperors’ Dinner», came into being in Paris on June 7, 1867
at the Café Anglais, now the Tour d’Argent, on the occasion of
the Universal Exposition. It brought together three emperors:
Wilhelm I von Hohenzollern, Tsar Alexander II who was at the
origin of Cristal, and the Tsarevitch, later to become Alexander

This dinner brilliantly symbolises the excellence of Great French
Cuisine. Louis Roederer champagne was among the wines
selected to accompany this memorable evening.
Maison Louis Roederer has decided to share this highly
exclusive dinner by offering it to the greatest restaurants
                            around the world.
